The game is too easy.

Once you reach around level 10 in skills, the game is just easy. I dont get caught or suspected of thieving, alchemy everything is top quality. Crafting level 4 (martins secrets). No challenge,

Would there be any mods in the future to change this, or would hardcore mode increase skill difficulties?

Look on nexus mods, theres quite a bit that make it harder. im using 50% reduced exp (that would suck using it mid game). then better combat, makes the Ai attack more often and also I think a modlet that makes it so your skills dont matter as much in combat, like you wont scale as hard.
Less money for selling, less base carry weight reduced by 75%, making you even less money. Removing player icon on the map, removing most the hud ect, ect ect.

There’s a mod that recreates hardcore mode from the first game called Scout hardcore mode. I haven’t tried it, but it might be something you’re interested in. I heard an official hardcore mode will release at some point.

the game is just not difficult, its way too easy and hard core mode or exp reducing wont fix it, would require extensive reworks and removing a lot of convenient crap from the game

Just mid game its just easy to steal items and not get caught. NPC's have minimal awareness. reputation is 100 everywhere. does need alot of work

In the mean time, you could ofcourse make things harder by yourself by stripping down to your underwear, going on a drunken bender and killing a few guards in front of witnesses. Throw all your possessions in a pond and see how long you can go with cockerel potions instead of sleep.

It was the same problem in KCD 1—after learning Master Strike, no one could really defeat you, even in a 1v10 fight. Enemies deplete their stamina too quickly and die from a single blow. Also, the armor is so overpowered that you won’t get hurt even if you stand in place for 30 seconds. The only thing you can do is install a melee damage reduction mod so fights last longer, but it won’t make the game any harder.

ya im not even halfway done with the game, havent even started the wedding yet and im already so op bandits flop dead or run away after 1 hit

i found the game get a lot better after leaving the first region. But you will have to suffer through snoozefest of a story for 10 hours or so at that point.

same feeling here and i must admit that i'm disappointed. I didn't play the first one, but i heard that it was supposed to be a hard game in a matter of fights, but it is absolutly not. I'm also not already at the wedding, doing all quests, but i have the feeling that i can't get beaten anymore ! all npc are down fast. It is not the game i was thinking about in a matter of fight simulation. Much disappointed and i'm wondering how it will go further in the game.

And i don't agree with answers that you need mod to get it harder. The game is not well balanced in a matter of fights, mod should not be the solution.

agree + they really didn't learn their lesson from the first game about money, like in the kuttenberg region just going from village to village and getting into an ambush can net you enough money from selling all the loot to clean out every trader in the city (even startet to only take really expensive stuff 2k+). So much money and nothing to spend it on.
