KCD2 is undergoing a smear campaign
Edit: This post was made before Daniel Vavra went on Twitter to clarify some things and confirm some of the other things that concerned people. I still think that much of the hate and anger is unnecessary, but I do understand it at the same time.

I have also seen some valid criticism concerning the decisions to add a black West African character and giving Henry the option to have a sexual relationship with another man, but I think it could have been done without all of the torches and pitchforks.

Warhorse Studios is not the same studio they were when they released KCD1, they are now owned by Plaion, and this could explain some of these "abrupt" decisions, maybe Vavra is too embarassed to admit this, I don't know, and I'm not sure if we will ever know, but I hope we get the answers we need sooner or later and things get sorted out.

_

I think we're all jumping too quickly to conclusions and we're making our minds up over leaks that could potentially be all fake and part of a hit piece to hurt the game's sales numbers, as both of these users pointed out in their posts:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/1771300/discussions/0/507318268593231888/
https://steamcommunity.com/app/1771300/discussions/0/507318096807165282/

I understand how this situation might be upsetting for many people, the last thing you would expect from Warhorse Studios is for them to pull a bait and switch on the fanbase they've built, but we need to be the bigger person here and wait until the game is released to then verify if the supposed leaks are real or just false information meant to negatively affect the studio. You might be playing into a possible smear campaign, so be wary and wait for the facts.

And just a reminder to everybody: don't trust everything you see online.

The scene of Henry and Hans at the lake that is being pushed as a "romantic gay scene" by some people is simply being taken out of context as shown in 41:45:
https://youtu.be/F6GXG1HD6bg
Also, the company who's behind the Code of Conduct is not Warhorse Studios, but rather their parent company, Plaion, who apparently are overseeing the Steam forum aswell.

It's very possible. Still, I'm going to wait. I don't want to fall for another Starfield.
It definitely is and there’s an influx of trolls either from twitter or another community rage posting to try and dissuade people. It’s gross honestly

It's super bizarre. I get it when it's justified but this all fabricated.

It might also be people that already wanted the game to fail for its lack of "diversity" and are using this as an opportunity to further deceive people. It already happened with Game Science.

Wut
Oh, it most certainly is, I just can't for the life of me figure out why. Why would someone want this game to be the target of these insufferable low-IQ anti-woke chuds and their bigotry? Why do they want to cause this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥?

Yep.

These are scorned players from DEI failed games. They literally want this to fail like those other games just for the fact it doesn't have any sort of sociopolitical agenda

Isn't the CoC being made by Plaion and not Warhorse Studios? Not everything is being handled by the studio itself, they are only developing the game, and they even have a publisher that has previously put out games like the Saints Row reboot that was so disliked, but KCD1 came out and it clearly hasn't tainted the same way, so let's not punish Warhorse Studios for something they might not even have a word on.

I’m not entirely convinced it’s ALL far leftists. I’m seeing so many overly conservative twitter accounts tweeting about how the game is DOA because of the “cringe woke pandering” and how they’re canceling their preorders

Some of the outrage is so comical that it reads like satire. I understood the backlash Dragon Age received. You could plainly see where devs tried to preach to the player. There's zero evidence of this game being "woke" though. The creative director tweeted himself celebrating Trumps win. Anyone attacking him is likely just a far left extremist pretending to be a conservative to make us look bad.
Exactly, Daniel Vavra has been very outspoken about his beliefs, so it's very silly for everyone to be taking in all this possibly false information about the game and running with it.

The people actually falling for the low effort propaganda make me sad, because they are going to miss out on playing what will be one of the greatest games of this decade, if not of all time, all because some losers on social media literally made some stuff up.

That said, there is for SURE a lot of bad faith actors and outright trolls suddenly coming out of nowhere trying to push the BS to try and make this nothing-burger into a controversy the same way many users on Wikipedia try and claim something is a "controversy" just because a few people talked about it (see: "Obama tan suit controversy" for example). It is the actions of pathetic losers and cowards with less honor than Runt's left ear had (before Henry utterly obliterated it and everything else that was once part of Runt's head).

Oh really? That's a shame.

There are obviously people falling for it too, so I hope this post and other's in this forum help to soothe the waters.
