And how many words were said about “We have a realistic medieval game”. If your game has a black man not shackled in medieval europe, it's not realism, it's a fantasy game. From a pure historical point of view, in order of things most likely.
1. Gay people existed before and after Medieval times, there are records of people who were certainly gay in medieval history. and human nature and biological fact says these is 100% historically accurate
2. Foreign people visited and lived in European cities in the medieval period - we know for a FACT this is true, London has tax records about 6% of its population is not born in the UK we have Africans and Indians living in London. Spain and Portugal have a wealth of historical sources, any there is multiple other sources from across Europe.
3, The least likely thing to happen is a Peasant like Henry being made a knight, not impossible but exceptionally rare - and even rare that a noble would dare do this outside of a powerful king. More than racism the class system is the bedrock of the Feudal system.

But for some reason even though you claim to want to be historically accurate and get upset if they are not - you seem fine with number 3?

Code of conduct they posted speaks for itself if they are protecting the alphabet n*zis, then the rumors are probably true about the Saudi's banning the game for the un-skippable g*y scene. The Blackrock money was probably too good to pass up. Obviously wait an see though eventually someone will put it out for all to see if it's really a thing. As far as the Black character, I assume is probably a merchant from another land or a diplomat or something. But as I said we will see, someones gonna spill the beans and show the proof. Just don't preorder yet. None of these game companies are learning the lesson yet. We got whole studios and companies going down due to the woke DEI nonsense. I could list them all but im too lazy, I expect more from these companies don't inject that BS in games, or if it's gonna be in the game better make it so it's an optional life choice to be gay or straight and make it very clear so people aren't trapped into it later. Also ALL cutscenes should be skippable regardless..

As a Czech guy who follows his work and activities both inside and outside the gaming industry. I can assure you, that your thought processes are absolutely ridiculous.

I'll tell you how Vávra sees it.

He sees you as pathetic homophobes to whom he doesn't have to explain anything. And he believes in the intellect of the fans of that franchise. (That's why the quests in KCD1 are structured the way they are. They don't lead you by the hand.)
He doesn't want to talk to people like you. He doesn't want to defend himself to you. You're not his target audience. Vávra has never made games that are meant to be for everyone.
Vávra makes quality games for normal people who don't have twisted radical views.

I suppose we’ll find out soon enough. I’m fairly confident they stayed true to realism and historical plausibility, but if they caved to the typical American diversity narrative—like 'gay good,' 'black good,' and other shallow virtue signaling—then it’ll be clear Vávra was influenced. Time will tell.
