The ambience is too loud!
I saw a couple of new game play videos this week. And i noticed 2 big problems in them.

Both of them had to do with the sound.

In one of the scenes Henry is talking to a couple of men who is asking him who he is and where he is from.. And in the background there is a couple of chickens and a dog barking at them. Probably in some kind of farm. The problem is the sound from the animal was Constant...
The intensity of barking and clucking was insane.. And every second it seemed to switch to a new recorded audio.
Which must mean that dog has never seen a human in his entire life before... Cause no dog goes "woff Woff WOFF AOOOUUUHHHH Woff WOFF wooff woff Grrrr, GRRRR, WOFF WOFF WOFF!" in a 30 second clip. At least not that i have seen before...
In fact a farmers dog seldom barks at anyone and are actually pretty friendly people... And i bet that any farm is sounding way more peaceful.

The intensity of how both of their recordings are playing must be set to really low.. Maybe try to put this on a 3-5 second interval?

And then there is the ambience inside of Kuttenberg... And i get it...! They want to give the feeling of a huge city filled with people... But the ambience is overwhelming since the volume is turned so high. It is a constant cafe chatter that plays at a very high volume compared to other Npc's, quest givers and ordinary talkers.. And although i myself would have switched the sound out completely, The recording is probably just fine. It is the volume that could be set to 70% or maybe 50% and give off the same if not an even better vibe.

This is more like sitting outside of a cafe trying to enjoy some downtime as a protest marsh is passing right by.

I do get it though. It is a huge, busy city, But i would like to hear myself think if this is where i am gonna spend a lot of time!

Mutt is a yapper and is very annoying. I made him stay at the mill a lot as while useful in combat his yapping drove me nuts.

In most games, you can play around with the volume in the settings for different aspects of the game...

Yeah, dont care. In most games i've played i don't have to play around with menus every time i enter different settings just to make it much less of an annoyance..

bet you haven't played any one of those good ones before? Bet you just spend hours menu scrolling...

You do realize this comes across as some technologically illiterate person complaining that their phone isn't working right because they didn't go through the settings when they first got it right?
Not every game will have a default preset that works with you, that's why the Options tab in the main menu exists. This has been the case since at least the mid-1990's.

But hey! Don't get me wrong. I do think it's very funny that both of you have such low standards in what you expect from games today that you don't mind fiddling around with all the settings every single time there is a dog around..

You would've hated growing up in the 1990's I suspect.

Im usually able to get a game's sound set just about perfect in the sound menu. I wont be worried about this game. I usually have ambiance set really high, but if its too loud here just crank it down some. No big deal. Now if there is annoying loops of sounds that play over and over in a short time, then thats bad. Ive not run into that much in games.

I play my game on a receiver and dolby 5.1 with a good sound card, so sound is real important to me. I hope the sound on this is good. I feel like the 1st one was good that way. Good surround sound and ambiance.
