It's likely for the massive amount of NPC's in the main city in the game, NPC's are always murder on the CPU.

My friend bought a month ago 7950x3d + 4070 ti super as a gaming/working setup for the years. He was happy until he saw kcd2 requirements for 30/60 fps lmao

I usually don't pay attention to requirements. I can usually tweak settings to be good enough to squeak by at 1080p 60fps with my 3060, i7-12700k, 32gb RAM. I'm not looking for crazy graphics. Though I wish the AAA gaming dev mindset was the same as mine. Maybe requirements just to get a steady 60 frames wouldn't be so over the top.

Yeah KCD1 cant hit a stable 60 with a 5800x on medium settings with a lot of NPCs on screen like in the Radzig camp battle

Issue is a lot of games these days are really cpu bottlenecked and not a lot of games will give u an NPC density toggle to meaningfully affect the CPU. I lowered settings all the way to low and still couldnt hit 60 FPS in basecamp of MH Wilds on a 3080 5800x
I have a 7800x3D, but it's a little disappointing knowing all the potatoes out there are having a melty. KCD 1 graphics were fine, they can and should optimize for toasters. The 1080p 30fps is option is dire for what kind of specs you need. People will play this with PS2 graphics if they are able to.

Bro u have a 7800x3d but its the recommended CPU. Looks like its gonna be a potato in a year or two. I am thinking of upgrading but when the recommended CPU is basically the best on the market (9800x3d is basically just 10% faster in most cases so its not like 7800x is that far off) and only gives u 60 fps at 2k, thats not exactly thrilling.

relax this is spec in rasterisation not with DLSS or FSR enable so it's cool i can say now to you my specs :
i9 9900K
RTX 3060 ti
32 Go ram ( 3000 )
can easely run this game in 1440 p preset " Hiht " between 60 / 120 FPS with Dlss quality
and 60 / 70 without it.

dlss and fsr wont save you from fps drops and stuttering that also adds the input lag and the image artifacts. these technologies were developed so that everyone and mostly poor peole could enjoy the game with crutches that worsen the image because of upscaling but allow you to have high graphics settings and smoothness. But not so that you could run the game in 30-60 fps on hiend CPUs and RTX 4080+ on upscale xDDDD frame generation is just some kind of trolling from nvidia at first it gave double fps to everyone who wanted it, but now it is becoming a basic necessity with all its shortcomings. just marketing to sell more rtx 4070+ cards before 5000 and nothing more. it's a marketing conspiracy. they sell you graphics that are stuck in 2016 but with growing system requirements

It probably is the highest system requirements I have seen so far.
I have a I7-11700F, 48Gb RAM, RTX3080. I am not worried. It is close enough and well above the min specs. I expect the game to perform relatively well still.

Edit: Crossing fingers though. These are still steep recommended requirements. They seem to be aiming at cutting on CPU bottlenecks. I am also surprised that there is no requirement for SSD drives.

Major Issue Dec 8, 2024 @ 1:49am
Well I have i5 11600 and I will not buy new mobo and cpu for this game, I would bet even old 8c i7 11700 will perform significantly better than the lame BIG.little i5 13600K so I might look for used i7 11700 for this game and sell my i5 11600.

ALmost sure thats because all the npc's have a routine and traits could be wrong and its only on the higher settings just turn stuff down

SSDs are required under every single requirement
