If you want a 1v1 competition then surely it's this vs AC Shadows. Like Vavra said it will be interesting if a smaller passion project can defeat a corperate product for the modern audience.

AC is so dead to most who liked those.

Plus AC is more like an arcade game. I don't see any competition with it.

In fact I see NO competition for the KCD games, that's the sad part. Most everything else out there is too Fantasy/Fiction stuff. While that's fine and they have their place, I don't see how those other games would be considered competition for KCD2 at all.

In terms of a quality rpg, sure. sales however will be much closer. AC is still a (vaguely) historical action game and still super popular with normies too.

AC will probably be more popular with the console crowd compared to KCD2.
On PC... KCD2 without any doubts.

I'll probably be playing Avowed and I'll pick up KCD2 when all the bugs get ironed out. I also wanna know if they made Henry any more interesting before I pay full price, his lack of personality really put me off the first game.

also, vampire the masquerade bloodlines 2 may be released around that time. it doesn't stand a chance

Please look into the extremely troubled development of VTM:B2 before thinking of buying it.

That game is a train heading for a cliff, VERY troubled development and already many axed-up features are known.

Avowed is giving tons of "Kingdoms of Amalur" vibes, which isnt good. Kingdoms of Amalur was also set up as a Dragon Age competitor at the time, but it was the most generic RPG ever.

Thus i am a bit skeptical of Avowed... i feel it will be a extremely empty world with subbar Obsedian writing (i didint like Outer Worlds either).

Kingdom Come 2 is more of the same from the first game, which i really liked.

Guess it won't be going head to head with Shadows after all.

KCD2 for sure. Avowed I will be playing (loved POE 1 and 2 and despite the whole 'woke shenanigans' I give Obsidian the benefit of the doubt), but later and on Gamepass.

In all fairness I never even heard of Avowed before folks here mentioned it. That says alot because I try my best to look at everything that's upcoming so what has that game team done to promote the game if so many never even heard of it before

I've been eyeing up KCD2 and Avowed. The story and decision choices I have seen so far suggests KCD2, while the combat suggests Avowed (more variety as magic supported). While the pre-order quest for KCD2 is tempting, I'll probably do without and wait until after release. The first area in a game usually gets more time spent on it, and I want a game that is good throughout.

Are they gonna add choices in KCD2? The first one was completely linear from what I remember.

There was lots of choices and consequences in side quests and main quest. None of it affected the ending though

Were there though? I remember a few rare ones at the ends of some side quests but nothing with any real consequences, kinda on the level of choosing your colour at the end of Mass Effect 3. Are they planning on improving it in the second game though?
