WTF is this price?
Bro, in my currency I'll be paying 70 dollars (And it would be the base game)

In comparison:

*Baldur's Gate 3 > costs 59,99 ~ BRL 199,00
*Elden Ring > costs USD 59,99 ~ BRL 229,00 (with dlc: BRL 309,90 deluxe edition BRL 387,50)
*Black Myth: Wukong > costs USD 59,99 ~ BRL 229,00 (Deluxe edition BRL 279,99)
*Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 > costs US59,99 ~ BRL 199,00 (deluxe Edition 309,90 and Ultra Edition 359,00)
*GUNDAM BREAKER 4 > costs USD 59,99 ~ 232,50 (Deluxe 349,90 and Ultimate 387,50)
*Dragon's Dogma > costs USD 59,99 ~ 279,00 (deluxe 319,00)

*KCD2 base game costs USD 59,99 ~ BRL 299 ("deluxe" BRL 398,00)

According to this site > (https://www.usa.gov/minimum-wage) The Minimum wage in USA is 7,25 per hour. I'm assuming people commonly works 40h a week so it means you'll earn US1160 per month. That being said, the proportion you'll be expending of your money in tripleA games is more or less 5%.

In Brazil we earn per day (The calculus per hour only happens in specific situations, so let's ignore it for now). The minimum wage in Brazil is precisely BRL 1412 per month and 47,06 per day (We always use 30 days for the base calculus). KCD costs approximately 21% of the salary the majority of the Brazilians receive. Elden Ring/Black Myth Wukong costs approximately 16%.

While you, fellow americans, have to work 1 day to buy this game, we Brazilians have to work like 5 days to pay what Elden Ring asks, and for KCD almost 6 and a half days. (Not every job pays for extra hours though).

Fun information: The correct price for AAA games in Brazil is BRL 199,00 14% of the minimum wage. That's the most acceptable here and is the price used since the beginning of times.

edit1: this is obviously a hyperbole, I'm well aware that the game isn't 70 bucks. But this is my logic: the difference in prices considering the minimum wage is about 16%, if you add it to 59,99 you'll get ~69 dollars. And even if you disagree with my crazy math, 299 BRL is about 54 dollars and I said 70, so its clearly a hyperbole either way.

edit2: d1ck salad eater: someone who pays for a bad/overpriced product. In general this person will defend a company and its practices without being paid for it.

You prob don't know who sets the price localization. The game is literally more expensive than Black Myth: Wukong and Elden Ring, like what the hell?

every game on steam has terrible regional pricing, you should know this by now. Its just the norm to have bad regional pricing. Doubtful they will change it.

and no, its not OP's countries fault, its the developers/publishers setting the price higher than it should be compared to said countries purchasing power.

You might need to work on your math. If KCD2 is BRL 299 for you at Steam store it is approx USD 54 and not 70 you mention in the beginning. It is interesting the publisher of KCD2 went with a different price than publishers of the other games you mention - but that is about it... interesting.

I understand that USD 54 is rough taking into account Brazilian GDP per capita, average income etc, but life is rough in poorer countries overall and PC games are not exactly basic life need that need to be affordable to everybody. Note that while players from South American countries are always complaining about regional prices not low enough, players in all EU countries get the same highest price despite some of the poorer EU countries having GDP per capita and average income similar to some South American countries,

Anyone who can afford investing into his PC rig (HW does not have much of a regional pricing, naturally) to keep it good enough to run newly released games can also easily afford to buy several AAA games a year at US/European prices - and getting even slightly better prices than that through regional pricing just makes it even easier. Anyone who cannot afford several AAA games a year at full price also cannot afford to regularily upgrade his PC with the latest HW and thus can only play games several years after release anyway when they are already heavily discounted. Either way, game prices should not be an actual problem for anybody.

Deluxe edition in Chile is about 50 dollars but for this game I would't mind paying more (I wont tho)

Self-entitled and ignorant mentality right here. Refusing to see the bigger picture.

If it has red percentages at the right side, it's objectively overpriced. Regional pricing was a system made to make gaming more accessible and affordable while trying to maximize profits with a proper appealing price point. Don't think of it as discounts but as surcharges. Steam suggested prices are meant to help corporations to make the best estimate of the price at which they will max their profit. Them not following the regional pricing recommendation and overcharging in those regions is proof that they're ignorant and out-of-touch with consumers.

Regional pricing is one of the reasons PC gaming has had such a big expansion in the late-2010s, globally. You're certainly not going to see anyone in second and third world countries buying the game at these price gouging rates. At the end, it's a net loss from potential sales for the corporate, by choosing to overcharge.

No self-respecting gamer has any reason to oppose regional pricing since it's a win-win for all parties involved. VPN hopping? Not a problem since Valve has immensely curbed down on it in the past few years. Grey market key generating in cheaper regions that are sold at a higher price? Easy to counter with geoblocking and restricting keys to particular regions from where they were generated from.
