But who knows. Optimization isn't really done anymore, apparently. That has been replaced with DLSS and the likes.
Thats exactly what im a little scared of. I hope the half year delay will be used for Optimization
Problem with 1st KDC was in he configurations, premade ones: ultra had some low values that were able to be enhanced and others that were unplayable. On top of that, the volumetric fog was activated or not all the time, not per weather/time/location... And some strange grey shadowing effect when moving some characters...
Similar specifications, but if they add HDR/RT... higher. Given in 1920x1200p I am using 9'7GB of VRAM, if you want to run this you will need same or higher VRAM GPU. So, for higher than full HD without gay fake DLSS, you will not be able to run this without top of the series. (Well, no nowadays games are playable in 4K with top GPUs yet..., without fake 1080 upscale to 4K).
I think most people should be fine as long as they run 1080p. I imagine they'll have DLSS too, but that mainly helps on the GPU side. I think the big question is how much the "npc daily routines" will affect CPU, especially in Kuttenberg.
And if the game will consider using ALL processing cores of the CPU...
Well, this was always meant to be one game, but rather than having everyone wait for 14 years (and them running out of money in the meantime), they released the first part when they had it. So I wouldn't expect the second one to be using any other engine. This isn't like other sequel games.
The first one was very kind in terms of its hardware requirements - in fact, many casual gamers I know were surprised that their hardware was fast enough to play such a new and stunning-looking game. It just comes to show that a game doesn't need super-next-gen weather effects and whatnot for people to like it - a carefully sculpted world that doesn't look like an endless repetition of the same stuff is worth far more. (For comparison, even though the world in Hogwarts Legacy was huge, it all looked dead and sameish and no-one plays that anymore a mere year after release, whereas KCD1 still rocks, even after six years and 1000+ hours of play.)
