KCD2: A more diverse game!

I am getting tired of game developers caving to today’s “social norms” brought on by a small section of the gaming community. While diversity and representation are undoubtedly important in certain circumstances, it is essential to prioritize historical accuracy, especially in a game that aims to immerse players in a specific time period.

Kingdom Come Deliverance is known for its commitment to historical realism in its portrayal of 15th-century Bohemia. However, introducing characters from marginalized groups such as LGBTQ+ and darker skinned individuals into a prominent role in the game would undermine this dedication to authenticity.

Allow me to provide some historical context.

Bohemia in 1403 was a predominantly homologous society with limited diversity in terms of ethnicity and sexual orientation. LGBTQ+ and darker skinned people were not prominent or even acknowledged members of society during this time period. Introducing such characters into the game as anything other than background fodder would be historically inaccurate and would compromise the immersive experience that Kingdom Come Deliverance is renowned for providing.

Furthermore, Bohemia in the 15th century was deeply rooted in feudalism, with strict social hierarchies and cultural norms. Introducing characters who do not fit within these societal structures would not only be historically inaccurate but also unrealistic.

Yes Bohemia, specifically Kuttenberg, may have had a degree of cultural diversity in the 15th century due to its economic importance and influx of people from various regions, like merchants, craftsmen, and miners from different areas of Europe. However, the primary cultural influence would still have been Czech, reflecting the broader context of the Kingdom of Bohemia.

I understand there is some importance of inclusivity and representation in this game, but it should not come at the expense of historical accuracy, especially in a game like Kingdom Come Deliverance that prides itself on its realism.

!!Trigger Warning!! Instead of shoehorning diversity into the game and forcing a gay/trans character down our throats just because “WE NEED REPRESENTATION!”, I urge the development team to focus on telling an engaging and authentic story within the constraints of the historical context.

Before you flame me and call my homophobic or racist understand that I am all for including that kind of stuff in games that aren’t supposed to be historically accurate. Take BG3 as an example. I have over 140 hours in that game and it’s very diverse. However, it’s a fantasy game that isn’t rooted in any real-world events, history, or locations.

Diversity means variety. And they left a lot of historical folks out in the first game, which we are going to meet in the second. So more european tribes/folks are going to be explored.

The term has somewhat been abused and misused. We are not going to meet black racist trans furries that glue their butts on freeways. Just more historical variety without focus on RGB people.

While the concept of "tribes" might not directly correlate with european "societies" of that time as it does with some other regions, there were certainly distinct ethnic "groups", "clans", and "communities" with their own cultures, languages, and identities. However you want to call them..

That's all well and fine, but like I said I don't want them to shoehorn diversity down our throats just because they feel the need to cater to the minority for fear of media backlash about not being "inclusive" or not "diverse enough".

Did you even read what I wrote? No one's getting shoehorned down anything. You're either gaslighting or have trouble understanding?
You read the word "diverse" on some blog/article from some magazine or whatever because media likes to use that to create some extra viewtime.

Warhorse wants to explore more folks than for example the Cumani from the first game. They don't include them to cater to communites that don't even exist anymore (!), but because it's historically accurate and interesting!

Like I said. Get off media and you'll have a much easier life!

When they say "diversity" they specifically mean black people. They don't care for other light skinned ethnicities. And for that matter, if you walk anywhere outside Prague today you'll be lucky to see black people anywhere let alone 620 years ago. These clowns really need to educate themselves. I know it's hard to imagine that Central Europe in late middle age was no 19th century London because that's the only historical setting you ever saw in a tv show...

I live outside of Prague. The last time I saw a black man on the street was relatively recently, about six months ago. Another year or two and nothing. I also occasionally meet a student of Charles University born in Togo or Ghana in some means of transport. When I ask them where they come from, they answer in Czech well enough that they are f.e. from Benin. Which is quite amusing.

As far as historical accuracy and the mentioned Kuttenberg I must add, besides Czech, the widespread use of German, especially in this mining town.

To further my original post, I would be willing to bet that besides the diversity argument there won't be any sex scenes or nudity in this next game unless its male nudity. It seems like more games now are featuring male ass instead, and shy away from showing the female form. It wouldn't make much of a difference in the story obviously, I just think its sad.

I really hope Warhorse doesn't water this game down. I've heard people complaining that the game was also disrespectful towards women because some of the women didn't even have names, such as "Deutsch's wife" and the "Old ♥♥♥♥♥" as well as other stupid things.

This is quite wrong. There were a decent amount of other ethnic groups in Bohemia
You forget that Bohemia is in central Europe close to the HRE,Poland,Hungary and other places
