Report a translation problem
Then they can stay in their bubble, or learn English, just like many people already do especially people from countries that never has games translated to their native languages...
More comfy to have this as a Casus Beli.
Because I don't want to here any notations from the group of people, that are chimpout all around the world, but start whining when they get pushed back.
Those who speak Russian outside of Russia are part of the Russian diaspora almost 100% of the time. If Russia is spoken by some other nationality, it's practically always as a second language. Besides, the Central Asian market (to which you're likely referring) is insignificant compared to others. Also you have to ask yourself what's the ROI of paying for a specific localization.
For localization you have to pay for:
-text translation, which is billed per word. Typically around 0.1 USD per word but this can easily go up for less common languages.
-voice acting. This is much harder to estimate, but consider this to be much, MUCH more expensive than text translation
-Localization QA to verify localization and correct any potential error
Is spending dozens of thousands of dollars for a language worth it? Will it attract more players? Surely. Will the absence of localization prevent the game from selling in that specific market? Absolutely not, as long as English is supported. If you think the devs will lose a significant amount of sales because of that, you're delusional.
That's why asking for your specific language to be added in is pointless if there's no clear ROI to be had. Also why even big studios never bring VA to all supported localizations.
Oh and Steam statistics are pointless in this case ; the vast majority of accounts play F2P games, MMORPGs and CS. If you sorted them by average library size and worth, Russia and China would drop down the list immediatly.
The voices of “activists” and bots always sound louder than ordinary people.
It's hard not to notice that most of them have no idea about the game and are unlikely to buy it.
I am a Ukrainian living abroad and I would like to have a Russian version - and I am sure that the translation costs will pay off for the creators of the game.
Play silly games, win silly prizes. Judging by the rhetoric Russia are spewing, those sanctions are only going to get worse.
