add manual saving on release.
there was nothing immersive or realistic about saving by drinking schnapps anyway, it was a failed experiment and now you can just give people normal save files.

playing on PC i know it'll just get modded in day one so even if you decide to keep this archaic system from the first game i'll still be afforded this basic convenience through mods, but console players won't have that luxury.

i know there's plenty of insufferable elitist gatekeepers from the first game that were adamant that you shouldn't play this game unless you plan your gaming session and know you won't be interrupted for X amount of hours because of how hardcore they supposedly are and to them i hope you found meaning in life outside of priding yourself in that you can play a game for 8 hours knowing you have nothing going on in life.

It was an attempt to make save scumming more difficult and encourage players to live with their actions.

If I am not mistaken, I've read that it's coming back to KCD2. I wish they explored other ways to mitigate this "issue" but it doesn't look like it.

I do want them to implement save scumming reduction systems, but being forced into an alchemy or trading career isn't something I liked either.
Gotta love the people who argue save scumming hurts realism, but every random dirt farmer along the roadside having super reflexes and knowing advanced sword fighting techniques is totally acceptable.

How about adding an optional "iron man" mode like in so many other games?
Those who want to challenge themselves get what they want, and those less hardcore players can play with less frustration.

If they're going to limit saves again, the game better be 100% bug free. There's nothing more frustrating with an artificially limited save system other than being burned by a bug entirely out of my control.

Of course, it won't be bug free. There'll be tons of quest-related bugs just as there were with the first one. And that's when a limited save design is not a design decision but a terribly unnecessary bug enhancer.

Devs, let the people who willingly give you money decide for themselves. Make it a one-time option when starting a game, and the people who want to be limited can be limited to their heart's content. Everyone wins.

Can always mod this in. The first game had a mod that allowed you to save where you wanted. Not a "need", but I personally don't see it as an issue if it isn't something that would create too much issue for them to add, I wouldn't want them wasting development time to it over something than can be added by a 3rd party.

I really don't care how people play their game, so the "moral" or "purist" position on the issue I could care less about.

Besides, I never understood people getting upset about what people do to their own game. It isn't like tools like "cheat engine" can't provide you with the means to cheat the game at your leisure anyway. Trying to stop people is just wasted effort better spent on the working on the game features, optimizations, etc...

Though I'd like to be able to save on demand right out of the gate, or an iron man mode option, there will likely be a mod to enable saving anywhere within the first few days of release.

Eh, you can always find somewhere to sleep and save, it's really not a big problem.

In late game, alchemy is so easy, you can craft snapps in batches.

Potions was a cool idea, but totaly ruined by fact you can stuck in every second bush or fence, and when you have not enought hard alcohol you were screwed and could play several hours again. Fix that or give us normal saving, please.

I think it was awesome.
That being said, they could add a mode that allowed for manuel saving, for those that wanna save scum.

should be like that on initial release.
