I hope combat is better
Seriously, the combat in KCD1 was so bad. What brain-damaged special needs out-of-touch moron thought animation-locked combat made sense in a 1st-person action-oriented game?

No more of this lock-on s♥♥♥. I looked past it in KCD1 because the story and setting was good, but not this time. If I see some piece of s♥♥♥ controller-inspired garbage the 2nd time around, I'm done with this franchise.

Skill issue.

Combat was great, because it was hard to learn. And after it got easy it felt really good.
I hope, because more is going on in the second, that they'll improve upon what they already have. Techniques to fight multiple people to get more fluidity. Fighting off more opponents, or switching target was their weakness. But it marveled at 1:1.
I really liked it.

You will missed :( (not really)

Tell me you are another souls braindead player? Because I was always laughing from your inability to use of braincells. This is not another key mashing, dodge fest in full plate crap, hold at last one time in your worthless life a true sword or sabre and then you can say anything about that. Fighting against opponent or two or more is hard almost impossible, Swormastering is like a dance where positioning and every step matters, without that you are dead meat.

I do hope they do something with the combat, it was the one thing I did NOT like. I like more easy, action type of stuff like Witcher 3.
Going to buy this as well but I really hope they give some type of option for combat that is anything but how it was in the first one.

I think it was a little too complex, learning all the different moves are time consuming, especially if you've only got a few hours to play the game a day due to other duties. I think they should streamline and simplify the combat a bit.

some one needs to get gud. Go play Assassins Creed. Learning the game and Mastering combat is what makes it Beautiful . So glad the Devs stay True to the Core Element of KCD Instead of listening to idiotic ideas like this

I finished the game in Hardcore and the combat has interesting mechanics but also flaws.

That lock on and camera swifting is indeed bad. i understand the lock-on for proper 1vs1 fights but hopelessly bad when fighting more than one enemy.

I hope they will solve this better this time.

To those saying the first game's combat was fine, steelman the position of those saying it isn't.

Con on combat is the hard lock-on on target that make target switching very very hard without mod to soften the lock since you have drag your mouse far away to make it shift to another, toggle lock on button would be nice, and for the love of God separate enemy class!!! Peasant should not be able to do master strike for f*ck sakes

Perhaps the combat in the first one was great, don't know, what I do know is that I (like in me) did not like it.

It was great because it was different. You couldn't just left click to attack just like in most games. You had to choose the timing, the angle, the distance and you had to account for your opponent's skill, anger, fear and equipment. If that's too difficult for you, go play Fortnite.

Yes fighting more than one enemy was difficult because of the way the camera worked and because enemies would attack (realistically) at the same time. But a first person game with a system like this doesn't have many options. They cannot just unlock the camera and add keys for directional attacks because the direction the player holds their weapon is taken into account by the enemy. Perhaps they can come up with more ideas.

Combat was pretty good in the first game and I hope they don't deviate much from it. All they need to do is polish it and improve how fighting multiple people works. Switching to a more "actiony" combat would be a mistake in my opinion, there's plenty of game that do that already.

May I suggest a compromise?

Why not have two systems: one for those who liked the original, and one for those who didn't?

And if you can't handle a proper combat system that is popular with the vast amount of people that would play it, you can always just go back and play the first game.

Because of the vast amount of resources the company would need to implement 2 combat systems.

Combat was already perfect in the first game.

That's not an excuse to lock camera. Key combinations can solve that problem very easily.

Locking the camera just so the player can sit and watch mini-cutscenes between avatars for the reelizms is not fun, especially in a first-person game.
