You might find the odd Moorish trader or african merchant here and there, but as far as the setting goes, it is still going to be a predominately Slavic and germanic people setting. You won't see any nobles of colour here, unless they could be proven to have been there by historical records of course. I assume we will have to see what they mean by diverse. For all you Americans out there, medieval Europe had loads of smaller kingdoms in these times, so for in that sense culturally Europe was a pretty diverse place. If we had loads of other ethnicities (in the modern sense) is hard to prove. Historical records are usually pretty patchy in the ways of what population make up was. But we do not need to insert modern themes into medieval settings. Just look at Shogun series, that is how you make historical settings for the most part. You do not have to make people black to serve modern audiences...

Yea so many black men that as a european 20 years ago when i saw a black guy i literally forgot myself staring at that exotic being as someone i would see once or twice a year if even that. (Biggest chance to see one was near big universities since uni education is free here)

Now 20 years later i might see one once a month unless i go to a store or place that i know one works at.

That's just probably a joke... Medieval icons painted the figures in dark colour is just a skill, doesn't mean there's bunch of black people there...
