Cryengine... Be prepared for low fps whenever there are more than 4 npcs on screen. No matter your hardware.

The low frame rate and CPU bottleneck were not primarily caused by the engine, but by the game code, which is largely engine independent.
Probably especially the clothing system, which provides the same clothing slots for each individual character as for Heinrich.
Furthermore, what the NPCs were able to do in the game, namely almost everything that Heinrich can do (and some things that he can't do), goes far beyond what is possible in other games.

But they have now had more than enough time to build on the foundation they laid in the first game and expand on it.
Maybe they have now decoupled the simulation speed from the render frame rate.

I'm excited and happy that we'll get to see something other than UE5.
Only time will show how things go. But the fact that they were quiet for so long and are now announcing it for this year makes me slightly optimistic.

But always remember: never pre-order.

Come now, 40 yes, 4 no. Ultra settings on my previous rig (1660) as well as the present.

Because it is superiour than UE for a game like this. UE breaks down once a few npc´s with schedules are on the screen.

God I hope, also cautiously optimistic. The first game was really good in vision but always felt like the devs bit off more than they could chew. Hopefully learning some optimization tricks can really get this game where it needs to be. If the game is just exactly the same but less janky I'll be happy.

lmao kcd runs very well they have one of the best implementention of TAA and not many bugs and issues if u say that is not the case u did not play anough RPGs to have perspective UE5 has many issues with generic ass loking shading that u cannot adjust because of nanite and lumen and has terrible cost performance ratio plus it would be new engine for them and u start running issues of tech debt that they aldery got out of on cry engine

...and trade in for UE5 problems? No thank you. In the end KCD1 turned out great.

They probably stayed because they know it. Retraining a team requires time and money. They also might have an extended contract.

Don't really like that many dev teams follow the UE5 trend. Also, you know who owns Unreal? Using that engine could up the potential of exclusivity...

I hope Warhorse got better optimizing their stuff. Their late announcement seems to be a good sign to iron things out before release. Could be wrong though...XD...

Wukong wants a word.

You clearly don't have a clue.

I can't believe they are still using the Cry Engine. I will have to pass on this one. Sounds like it's going to be the exact same gaming experience as the first one, just more of it.

If it's cryengine 5 then it will be substantially worse than UE5, because UE5 has advanced shading and ray tracing, cryengine 5 doesn't. They are planning on releasing a new cryengine that does have it after 5, but that will not be the engine this game is made on, so that will be very problematic.

Its good to see the engine survived the siege it was under, the Creation engine is heavily under siege at the moment.

BTW for anyone who's saying "cryengine 5 is better than UE5", you're not just wrong, you're unbelievably wrong. Here's a side by side comparison. They aren't even in the same league. https://youtu.be/dLsF5mT_uMs?si=3JWCIXZRimkdirsq

Unreal is 100% time better for Fantasy/Medieval. Unreal does stuff like atmosphere much better than CryEngine. Unreal = Round. CryEngine = Square.

CryEngine is the reason why I think War Horse should switch to Futuristic Space Robot/AI game. Just forget KCD, Henry is stupid, it never gonna work, trust me. Game industry will not never like Henry, KCD combat feels like you are fighting robot not human.

with all the invisible walls? nah. CryEngine reigns supreme in Kingdom of Bohemia. UE is trash if you want that many NPCs and all those wide views of nature. UE can't do that. devs tried.
