I don’t know, I really didn’t like it on a good PC. During this time I had 4790k, 11700k and 1080 ti, 3080 ti. If so, then I hope this is a modern version of the Cry Engine that can work with processor cores, because in the first part the game used only one core. FPS dropped in battles and some settlement areas

Yes. It's shown under system requirements.
Technically CryEngine is old and awful engine to optimize (since it uses megatextures loaded from directly from disk on demand...). So i have the exact opposite oppinion in which i hope they did switch for something else like Lumberyard or UE5. By the end the visuals are as they are just how the devs set the rendering to look like. However the graphics in trailer looked, while obviously enhanced, so similar to the first game and i highly doubt it's on a different engine + switching to a different engine, while you developed your systems and tools already in the other one is astronomicaly huge take on money and time resources.

There will be a Cry Engine. There is text in small letters under the recommended requirements, and there is part of the lines about the engine "Portions of this software are included under license © 2019-2024 Crytek GmbH. Oh, I was hoping they would switch to Unreal Engine for the sequel, as Cry engine made the first game quite clunky.

Well, we hope for good optimization, namely working with the processor

that's not on the engine, that's due to them lacking resources on the first game. they have money and a publisher this time. plus they've had plenty of time to iterate on the controls.

Question is, what version of CryEngine?

I seem to recall Cryengine was badly optimized considering multi core CPUs ( like, for anything with more than 4 cores ). Hopefully this issue is gone now? After all, KCD2 will be running on a newer version of the engine, so I'm guessing anyway.

It is not because engine as much as of how much time, resources, know-how and people to work on it:) Number of ppl in warhorse grows a waaay big, than the number to work on KcD 1.
You can have clunky game in Unreal Engine as well, if you have a less idea, what you do and less resources:)

Cryengine looks way better than unreal engine, my only concern is optimization and what version engine they use
CrazyMage Apr 18, 2024 @ 12:58pm
It will be CryEngine V5
Bullwark Apr 18, 2024 @ 1:05pm
KCD 1 CryEngine 3
KCD 2 CryEngine 5
