here is the harsh reality about warhorse studio and the first game

the first game is only good now but when it came out it was so broken it was unplayable and it was like for around 2 years. but even when the major bugs were fixed the game still have broken AI, broken game mechanics,bizzare things like the same faces copy-pasted of NPC's. mind you the first game has a 35 milion dollar budget after recruiting money and was in development since 2012 or even before that. and yet when it came out it was still broken.

just know what to expect. my bet is that the game will be again broken for the first year after release at least, if not more.

so just calm down your hype. wait for it to come out and dont start hyping it before release.

For me, the pros of entertainment I got out of it outweighs the cons.

I like to mod the game to the point I will never get to the end of the game (Fallout 4).

It was the same with KCD. Eventually though I finished KCD first ever since 5 years. But those 5 years was well worth my time of taking me on a ride.

I will agree the AI do need more refinement. I want it more on the sandbox side of things and self management. If you looked at the Knight Follower mod. It was a mess to look at in the scripts. I even modified his mod to make seperate followers that were able to use bows properly, but I got stopped at a point of the Brain seeing me as an enemy whenever I got on a horse, nor did they ever follow.

For the faces, I never really cared because they're suppose to be generic.

I dont mind giving money again on Kickstarter for a 35 mil project of a overglorified movie (game). I love wrecking the world's sandbox with AI battles or alley gang battles. But idk if they ever will implement that. Bannerlord tried and that was a goof for me.

The game wasn't perfect at launch but they got it there. They did everything a studio is supposed to do when they actually care about their project.

If that's not worth supporting, no studio is worth supporting.

I keep hearing how they "fixed" KCD 1 years after release and was even considering doing another playthrough but a streamer i watch called Vei is currently doing a playthrough and its still busted as hell in many places. literally every stream is filled with bugs and glitches, broken quests that require them to reload a save game to try to do something slightly different to avoid the bug/glitch. Rose tinted glasses must be a common loot drop for KDC fans because its certainly not fixed.

agree. i'm on the third playthrough but i never actually finished it because its so broken. i had to download a mod that let me save whenever i want but even that mod is taking me 200-400 gold randomly when saving. so whats the alternative? rely on saviour schnaaps? and this is the kind of stuff warhorse is famous for. they know how much people hated it and yet they refused to change it and KCD 2 will still have no quick saves. the game is beyond broken. when i finally understood how the game worked i realized i can just grind skills easly.

I don't know... what they attempted was very ambitious. They seem to have recognised with hindsight that they didn't do things the right way the first time around and hopefully seeing as they're still using the same engine and have more resources things can only be improved upon...

...but yeah, with gaming in the state it's in I feel you... too many bad devs out there to not be a little reserved...

I've played through three times and haven't encountered a single bug or glitch really...... I mean occasional things like animations screwing up a tiny tad or voices not quite syncing, but nothing I'd actually consider a "bug", certainly nothing game breaking.

I played this game when it first came out on Xbox, and I've played it many times on Steam since. I've never had a single issue when I play. Shame for you, I guess? Because the game really is phenomenal.

No idea what you're on about. I got the game on launch and it was perfectly playable even then. I had maybe 1-2 minor quests that I couldn't finish because of a bug, they were fixed since. Small glitches here and there happen quite often even in "AAA" titles.

Been gaming 20+ years, the kind of issues that I saw in this game are nothing I am not used to already. We have very different ideas about what is considered to be unplayable.

Well, I think you have been very unlucky, I have beaten the game 4 times and I never had a bug that broke my game. And as for visuals, I only detect popping problems when I'm riding at full speed. It is true that when the game went on sale it was extremely broken, with bugs and very long loading screens but right now it performs perfectly. And since the release of the game I have played it on 3 different PCs and on none of them have I had the problems you mention.
