Why do people have problem with appearance different ethnic group?
Why do have some people problem with this? I am from Czechia and you can see black people and asian in some paintings in castles from that time. There were black and asian people present in medieval Bohemia, although their numbers were likely small. They might have been travelers, traders, or even individuals serving in various capacities within the society. While their presence might not have been as common as in other regions, historical records and artwork suggest that black individuals did exist in medieval Bohemia.

And yeah, you might be surprised but being gay is not an invention of this century either.

Because people are sick and tired about "I have mental health issues so please include me too".
With exploring more ethnic groups they mean people that were commonly found during that period at said locations.
Times of war brought people together. So european groups like the Cumani are meant. Most likely we'll meet hungarians, austrians, germans, other slavic folks, Ottomans, etc...

Don't think anyone at WH means to put gay, black, asian traders into the spotlight, but of course social media likes to distort again...
The term you're looking for is "reactionary". A bunch of guys get angry in real life about mass immigration, or gay/trans people existing; and a lot of those people think that gaming belongs to them and games should be "apolitical" by which they mean appeals to their political sensibilities. Talking points about diversity annoy them in real life, so they don't want it in a game they belongs to their group. The historical accuracy doesn't really matter, even if you have specific sources to back it up like your painting for example. It will be seen as an attempt to signal a progressive political agenda from the developers, and they want to warn the devs they'll be cancelled if so.

People like this feel entitled to have the game reflect their politics, reminds me a lot of how there was a big blow up recently with Warhammer 40k because women were added to the custodes. There were of course fans who had opinions on how it could have been done differently, but the loudest voices were the people just angry that 40k was signalling that the creators were progressive when they felt like they should be loyal to anti-progressives instead.

When GTA VI revealed that there will be a woman in its main line I was disgused reading some comments. They could not stand the fact that there will be female next to a male in main role! LOL. I always knew these kind of people exist but so many? Well I think it is just the same like with politics in my country, people who votes mostly racist and always pro-russian politics, are the loudest ones, even they are just only 10% of the electorate. They rule disscusions on every topic.

There were no subsaharan black residents in medieval Bohemia. The chances of someone running into a black person anywhere in Europe before the 18th century were extremely slim. Don't fall into the trap of interpreting modern day political activism nonsene into the distant past.

The sands of the Sahara were a denser barrier than the open oceans and black Africans were not known as particularly vigorous travelers or curious explorers. In fact, not a single island close to the African mainland was ever settled or colonized by a subsaharan ethnic group yet somehow they are supposed to have been living all over medieval Europe? Give me a break.

Also, regarding the depiction of black persons in the occasional medieval works of art: the reality is less romantic. It's artistic convention, not past demographic conditions. St. Maurice was traditionally thought of as a Moor, and Moors were imagined as black-faced. This was done in order to emphasize their diabolical nature since they were Muslims and as such were identified as Chrsitian heretics. There was a long medieval tradition of associating blackness with devils and of seeing dark-skinned Muslims as diabolical creatures, especially the Moors who were imagined as 'African invaders' who fell upon the sinful Visigothic monarchy to punish their wicked deeds. You can read more about this in John V. Tolan (2002: Saracens - Islam in the Medieval European Imagination. Columbia University Press.

The word 'gay' may be old (first attested c. 1225 as a French loanword) but it's modern association with homosexuals only started in the 1970s. For more details see the OED entry on 'gay'. In medieval times homosexualty was referred to as sodomy, and was usually paraphrased as the 'unmentionable vice' or 'crime against nature'. As such it was punishable by death. In fact, the gruesome penalties reflect the seriousness of such offences in medieval culture. Depicting gays or trans-persons as living en masse normally alongside the rest of the society in Kuttenberg or any other settlement in game would be ridiculous nonsense.

Re-visioning the middle ages in 21st century categories of thought may be a fashionable thing to do nowadays, but is ultimately a comical and ludicrous act of historical denialism that can easily ruin a great game to the point of utter unplayability. Therefore I sincerely hope the devs are brave enough to send any and all activist politics to where it belongs - the garbage bin.

i like how Saint Maurice is now some "random black dude in armor" and that him being depicted as black has nothing to do with the fact he was black. lol

i'll accept your concession.
please show me source that there were black people walking around in middle age bohemian costumes serving in some capacity or working here... lmfao... at best you would probably met few arabs or tatars as traders or travelers (in large cities).... those few paintings of black people you can see in some castles are usually based on tall tales of european travelers and those africans are depict in african costumes in africa... even now apart from prague its very very rare to meet someone who isnt white unless they are romas or vietnames who got here after vietnam war.

According to a legend created in the late 4th century,[2] Saint Maurice was the commander of the Christian Theban Legion, which was allegedly slaughtered by the Roman Emperor Maximian near present-day Saint Moritz, Switzerland, when Maurice and his soldiers refused to participate in a ritual of sacrifice to pagan gods. Saint Maurice has been the patron saint of the emperors of the Holy Roman Empire since the 10th century. In 926, Henry the Fowler donated the entire Swiss canton of Aargau to the local abbey in exchange for the holy relics of Saint Maurice - spear, sword and spurs. These became part of the coronation ritual of the emperors and survived in Austria-Hungary as the emperor's insignia until 1916. In 937, the first emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, Otto I, founded the monastery of Saint Maurice in Magdeburg. The cult of Saint Maurice spread from Germany to Bohemia, where the Luxembourgs associated their imperial ambitions with him.[3] For Charles IV, the saint had a special significance. The "Holy Lance", one of the main relics he collected and had the Chapel of the Holy Cross built for them, was considered a relic of Saint Maurice in his time.
