Religious Dogma in KCD2
One thing that really triggered me as a cis-het-white male (he/him) was how frequently Jesus Christ and Christianity was referenced in KCD without providing any context to the immense crimes this religion has committed over the centuries. :steamfacepalm:

It's like 2024! Do we really need Christ jammed down our throats every five minutes? :steamfacepalm: It's like the Catholic Church funded the first game - gives me the ick. Why can't Churches and Cathedrals be referred to as simply places of worship so that those of us who don''t align with Christianity do not need to suffer constant microaggressions?

At the very least, there should be sufficient representation of other religious beliefs like Islam and Wicca for example, so that a mosaic of belief systems could presented to players. If I saw the occasional NPC praying to Mecca, I might...be willing to tolerate a few overt references to Christianity, the default religion of oppression and colonialism.

I'd like to finish by acknowledging that we the white population of North America are in the ancestral and unceded territory of the Indigenous people. To me it would signal allyship with the Indigenous people if they were represented in some way in KCD2. Their art, culture, language all could be incorporated into the framework of medieval Bohemia.

A subtle provocation, probably by a Russian or Ukrainian comrade. As someone with connections to Eastern Europe, you should know how things worked in medieval Europe.
.
Secondly, anyone who has played KCD knows that this game is very far from an adoration of the Catholic religion and Christianity, see chapters like Waldensians or The Madonna of Sasau. Not to mention John Huss' criticism of the Church, which results in his burning and the outbreak of one of the largest and only successful anti-Catholic uprisings in Europe. See the Hussite Wars and the defeats of the invading Crusader armies.
.
You should be glad that the game is very close to the historical reality of the period, thus making it very informative. But you seem to be interested in other things than the game, entertainment and education.

I hope they add even more Catholic stuff in KCD 2. Like different monastic orders (with their own accurate habits), Priests celebrating medieval mass at side altars and religious processions. It would make the game absolutely perfect.

There should be some other religions in the game, especially considering this is Kuttenburg, a massive trade city, but the overwhelming majority would be Christian during this time. As for indigenous Americans, they would not be on the continent at this time because it is Europe, not North America.

OMG, like I don't think I could survive that - I am very, very anemic from my all soy diet. I needed to be hospitalised briefly today after finding out that Trump was re-elected - strangely they put me in the psych ward rather than an ICU...they must have been low on ICU beds or something....
Like why can't everything conform to my safe space urban Californian sensibilities? Like, everything is so oppressive ugh.

As an Atheist, I would find it jarring for there to be a complete absence or widespread hatred of Christianity in a period piece like this.

Widespread atrocities in the name of Christianity were never a thing. Those always go back to specific people and small groups who managed to cause enough mayhem to make it into the historic records that managed to survive history.

By the OP's measure, all of Humanity should be condemned, not just the religious. It doesn't matter if the vast majority was just living life (as it has always been). The whole lot should be blamed according to the OP.

It would've if you hadn't responded 7 hours after the last reply. You just bumped it. Seems like an insincere request.
