Laid Bare Confflicts with questlines (SPOILERS)

I'm getting a little desperate here. I'm on my fourth (partial) playthrough attempting this, and I keep hitting the same wall. I'm trying to complete the "Laid Bare" achievement, which requires you to unburden every relic in the game. The problem is that I'm unable to get Bold's armor set because he never appears neither at the keep nor during the fight with the narrator . This is probably due to the fact that by unburdening the "Shield of Inspiration," I'm unable to advance Nhero's quest, who is connected to Bold's.

Does anyone who has completed the achievement have a workaround for this, or know what I may be doing wrong?

You have to kill Bold at the jail cell then, but I'm pretty sure you can advance Nhero by giving him an unburdened Shield of Inspiration unless I'm misremembering.
