How i can create a synergy server ?

Me and my friend bought Hl2 only to play on co- op and we cant play together in the same server. Plz Help.

Go to your Library and then the Tools section. Download and run "Synergy Dedicated Server". Enjoy. (You might have to forward some ports first.)

Yes, the problem is probably that your ports aren't forwarded. You can try Hamachi (VPN-service that makes a LAN) and make a local server. If you get a Class C error, make a VPN-alias in Hamachi (Right Click on network member > 2nd tab > VPN alias, then change the third number in IP to same as in yours) and restart it.

I am looking to set up a HL2 server as well. Unfortunately, when I run the dedicated Synergy server, it is only giving me the level options for HL2 EP.1 Maps.

Same problem--we both have synergy, Steam, and a LAN where the PCs talk to each other. But when I set up a server on my PC (mie is faster) her machine won't find it.

Running a Dedicated server: 1. Only wants to load Synergy maps and 2.) Giver me an error message if I try anything but a Synergy map.

Ok, this has worked for me. Port forward 27015 for Synergy on your router, and then set up a server in Synergy. Tell the person you want to have join your IP (You can use Speedtest.net to find it or any site of your choosing). Have that person go into their options and under keyboard choose "Advanced," and after they do, have them check the "Enable Developer Console" box. Then have that person hit the tilde key. Tell them to enter the command "connect xx.xx.xx.xx" The X's represent the IP you gave your friend. This has worked for me and is the only way I could get it to work.

if u wanna play together with noone else get hamachi and go to gamer consle in game 1 person create a network on hamachi find out the ip and that person start up the server then go to gamers consle and type "Connect X.XXX.XXX.XXX" or if it has more or less that that many numbers still just type it in its simple

You should probably feel bad for wanting it simply for co-op. One of the greatest single-player experiences out there. As for setting up a server, I'm not much of a help.

does anyone know if its possible to set up the synergy server with only using hamachi? and not forwarding your ports. because it seems very hard to port-forward and for some reason its not working for even though i follow the tutorials.
