Player models become invisble
I have been having issues when playing on a listen server with one other person.
The player models start out fine but after a few minutes they start to glitch. They look like they are spinning really fast and eventually disappear all together. Then are normal when the player spawns again.

A screenshot of an invisble player with just their avatar showing up.

I just experienced a similar issue where all props were there but invisible and players would disappear and reappear randomly (avatars remained). I disconnected from the server, rejoined and all was fine. Apparently the other players didn't experience it, at least none mentioned it.

This is just ona listen server I'm running and it happens in every mpa for both of us.

Something must have been wrong with my connection so if it is the same issue you may want to check over your network settings. I've had connection issues in the past if I didn't have both UDP and TCP ports forwarded even though I read somewhere that you didn't need both.
Wouldn't hurt to verify the cache but I'm guessing it's related to the connection somehow.

Try restarting synergy.

Verifying seems to have fixed the players going invisible. But on mine I still see the player glitching out (moving back and forth really fast)

are you on mac or linux? are you using a supported graphics card?
CrouchSoft Nov 27, 2013 @ 3:41am
Win 7, GTX 580. I play other source based games without an issue.
I will try verifying hl2/ep1/ep2 and see if that helps

have you tried lowering your graphics settings? Are you overclocking your graphics card?

I validated all the games and it seems to be fine now.

My wife and I are both having this same problem. Verifying does not really help any more than just restarting the game. We don't always glitch at the same time, though we do both finally glitch after anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. This is with a LAN listen server.
Both Win7 PCs. One GeForce GTX 760. One Radeon HD 5700. No overclocking.

I get it too. Really quite annoying... The player models start to shake erratically and gradually worsens until the model disappears entirely.

Same when playing with friend on his server. After a while other players animation becomes jerky, model standing up in vehicles etc. After some more time the model becomes invisible. It does not seem like a graphical glitch, more lika a server-client problem, but what do I know. Problem resets on map change.

My system (client): Ubuntu 14.04
Host system: windows something.

Also: game crashes on map change on linux if host.

This is a bug, I know. I run my own servers and it happens alot. It will probably get fixed in the October Update.
