Half Life 2 Episode 1 Broken

I was playing the part in episode 1 where you are fighting zombies in the dark waiting for an elevator, but the elevator never arrives, and actually doesn't even exist! I went into the elevator shaft with noclip and the elevator was missing so I can't play through the level. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I'm having the exact same issue. Me and a friend are stuck in the elevator room since the elevator never arrives. Does anyone know how to fix this?
