Please Help: Synergy requires a registered copy of HALF-LIFE 2 on this steam account to function correctly.

Just got the game and tried to run it and this pooped up, I have both Episode 1 and 2. I'm a noob at this so I'm pretty sure you are saying " uhh you idiot it's too easy" so could someone plese help, I saw only one post regarding this problem and it wasnt necesarily anwered.

According to your games list you have Half-Life 2 Episodes (EP1, EP2, DM & LC) but you do not have Half-Life 2 itself, Synergy requires Half-Life 2 as it is the base/core it was built with.

Well buying it would be retarted. Since I PRETTY MUCH ALLREADY HAD IT!!!WHAT weed were they smoking when they decided that it cant be in episodes.

You you stupid, The Episodes are a different game than HL2. Sure they have the same folder, but Synergy needs the HL2 files to run, which are not included in the Episodes since the Episodes don't need them. But HL2, its only $9.99. Or get it from one of the Steam Sales for a cheaper price!

While Synergy could run without Half-Life 2 the Developers had to include Half-Life 2 as a requirement for legal reasons since the mod let's you play the entire game within it.

Get hl2, run it at least once to the main menu then exit, now play Synergy.
