Difficulty settings do not work

So I want to play the campaign with my friend, and its too difficult. I tought its some coop modification for half life 2, but this is dumb actually. It spawns hordes of enemies at each other, and the difficutly settings do not work either. Easy-normal-hard. doesnt matter if i change before creating server, or after, with vote. everything's the same. Vintage mode does not work either. Respawn randomly doesn't give gravity gun (which is needed to progrese sometimes). the car's turbo sometimes works, sometimes doesn't, it random, so 50% we can't jump cause it does not react of pressing shift. Is there a way to fix vintage mode at least, so we can play something somewhat similar to the original game, or is this project abandoned with its bugs? Thank.

Unless you want to really dig in and learn how to customize it to fit your taste you're better off joining one of the 'Official' servers that only has enough slots for you and your friend(s).
There is a 2 slot server open right now that is currently on the first map of the campaign...

The mod is not abandoned, yes there are bugs, and yes it is currently being worked on.
