Sept,17/2013: You shouldn't need to copy ANY files into the synergy game directory. The content loader should be able to handle the additional search path. (By the way, it's not necessary to use the "-includepath" command line option, as this is an option for dedicated servers.)

hl2 bms

Note that when we 'officially' support BMS, we'll have these files included.

Its in development as we speak. I'm an admin on the official Syn servers & I can tell you it is about 20% done. Bare in mind its a big game to go through & will take a lil time. But if you would like to join us in beta testing maps I'll give you the needed info below:
First you need the Black Mesa Source mod: http://www.blackmesasource.com/download.html
Then the bms.dat file & to make a folder called "content" in your Syn directory.
Should look something like this:
C:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\YOUR-STEAM-NAME-HERE\synergy\synergy\content\
download the bms.dat file from: http://fbe.am/c6K its in an .rar file, just drag the bms.dat file into the folder above. Next go in game & toggle Black Mesa Source on, in game list & restart game.
I will need to change one of the Official servers to the BMS maps, so PM me in steam if you want to play it.

Models has no bodygroups, they all look same (guards and scientists), after resonance old citizens models replaces scientists and guards NPC models, that's look not good. Some anims from Black Mesa doesn't working, models have "T" pose like dummy's.
After all, I think it's a good idea, but Black Mesa is GLOBAL Mod. It's not Minerva, or something like Riot Act, and here is need a lot of work to do.
And Black Mesa have specific weapons like Hornet Gun, Satchel, etc... also there's another pistol, smg, crowbar... need to find a way how to replace old HL2 weapons.
Also, old citizens modelZ from HL2 doesn't look good at BLACK MESA RESEARCH FACILITY, that's why I think we need new playermodels, something like BM guards, scientists, marines...

The thing I'm a bit worried about is the Tau cannon, it needs to be replaced with the Gravity Gun in future releases, also how about MP5->SMG since hl2 doesn't have MP5
The pistol in BMS should be replaced with alyxgun since they look alike but there should also be friendly fire to NPCs for fun. Where will the stunstick come in the game.

I know this might be out of place but lameron since you're an admin of the official server can you tell me what game the maps "ce_01 (2,3,4,5,6,7)" belong to? My friend and I tried switching to those maps but received the usual kick error when you don't have a game that said "requires hl2 casual". Where can I find this game (mod)?

and trying my best to get back on topic from here, will support for HL:S be dropped in favor of black mesa?

First, my name isn't Lameron, there is no E in my name & 2nd don't try switchiong to those maps cuz they are not supported by synergy yet & most likely will never be. Krazy was working on it a long time ago & dropped it because of more important projects. I'll talk to Krazy about removing those maps from the votemap.

As for HL:S Krazy will most likely do Black Mesa instead. But you never know, he tends to supprize me alot.

Are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid? The Gravity Gun don't even exist in Black Mesa, and the Tau Cannon is the best weapon in the Half Life series, and you're telling the dev team to remove it? ♥♥♥♥ you. And no, replacing the MP5 with the SMG ruins the entire game, so who cares if HL2 don't have the MP5? The Glock 17 looks absoulutely nothing like Alyx Gun, just as before, replacing it also ruin the entire game.Stunstick is the most stupid idea I have heard in Black Mesa, it doesn't even exist during Half Life 1!
