Heavy Stuttering with Mouse Movement
A friend and I have been having playing Synergy for a few days, and it all began just fine, no problems. I load it up yesterday and suddenly I have a problem where moving the mouse causes the game to stutter or even freeze for a second. This happens in the main menu screen, in game, everywhere. I've reinstalled Synergy, I've reinstalled Steam. I've updated my graphic's drivers. What am I missing that could be the root of this rather spontaneous problem?

did you verufy the cashe of source sdk 2007 (located in tools) and half life 2?
also seems to be an issue with priority maybe, check task manager when its running, is your ram or cpu maxing out? if not try going to processes and right clicking hl2.exe and setting its priority to high (but not highest)

All have been verified and are okay. I'm not coming anywhere near maxing out my CPU or RAM, I'm not really getting a FPS problem persay. Movement with keys is fine, it is ONLY with mouse movement. As far as messing with the priority, it didn't help either, I still get heavy stuttering in game and on the main menu when moving my mouse.

maybe its a third party program if its only the mouse, try closing some
if not try disabling game overlay

Still no go. This is getting beyond frustrating.

1. Browse to your steamapps folder (C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\(your username) or C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\(your username))
2. Go into each source game folder and go into the properties of hl2.exe in each game.
3. Click the compatibility tab.
4. Check "Disable visual themes" and "Disable desktop composition"
5. Now run the game and alt-tab out of it.
6. Now alt-tab back into it and mouse lag should be gone.

check if that works

Still didn't work. I've also tried cleaning my drivers with Driver Sweeper and doing a fresh install with the latest nVidia drivers. That didn't work either, nor did rolling them back.

try adding -novid to your synergy launch options, this solved various issues i was having

Is it only synergy or all source games? try going to advanced video and changing the vsync value

Sorry for the lack of response recently. Work has been insane so I've not been trying to deal with this much. HL2 continued to work fine and no fiddling with settings, cleaning up drivers or adding anything to the command prompt for launching fixed it. HOWEVER, as of earlier today steam decided to update Synergy and Source... or I'm not sure what since both were shown as having downloaded 0mbs/0mbs, but that aside, the game is working as intended again. Go figure because I'm still clueless.
I am getting the same problem with synergy but only synergy as I've tested all my other source games and those don't display the lag/mouse stuttering
