Do I need to have HL2 installed?

Or can I just download Synergy and the game will work?

I have very little space available in my computer and I'd rather not download HalfLife2 and Synergy if possible!

Synergy is basically a mod for HL2 to add more players to the game. So yes.

Thanks for the quick reply ! I was kinda bummed out that the mod to add more players weighs the same as the actual HL2 game!

It's not a mod that just adds more players, he's oversimplifying things, it rebalances the whole game so as to provide a fun and challeging multiplayer experience.

No this isn't gmod, if you are looking for a free version of gmod search the steam store for gmod 9.

*p.s. I know there are commands but this game is supposed to be about co-op.

I know and own Gmod. I also know that one can spawn NPC's in any Source Engine game with a few mods and tweaks on the console.

I have half life 2 on another account and it's installed on my computer. Will i still be able to play on this account? or do i have to play on the alt?

Yes. My friend doesn't have ep1/2 so I logged into his PC, downloaded ep1/2, then used the Family Access stuff so my library is usable through his account just in case (and so he can play some new games)
