Unironically, McAfee is absolutely a garbage AV. I'd recommend cancelling your subscription and uninstalling it pronto.

You may have to make an exception in your antivirus for Synergy.exe
This seems to be a common thing these days with a lot of Source Engine games modifying their binaries. Black Mesa for example has had this issue on the last 4 updates, having to contact various antivirus companies telling them it is a false flag.

Not only Mcafee. Bitdefender also giving the virus warning for both srcds.exe and synergy.exe files and quarantining them.

My paid antivirus called chili security went of as well, saying that synergy.exe contains Adware and possible other harmful things as well.

I don't recommend playing the game anymore unless you want your pc to be harmed in bad ways.

BitDefender got triggered by this too. 'synergy.exe' and 'scrds.exe' apparently infected with Gen:Variant.Adware.ConvertAd.1502

With things like this I prefer to hear a comment direct from developers rather than blindly trusting and adding an exception.
