What a joy! What a game! What an experience!

First, I saw the music clips of one of my favorite musician, and now I finally got around to playing this gem.

Ïn Sound Mind"is a smooth, cozy, well-crafted experience for the people that are enjoying some psychological horror. The elements of the environmental storytelling and simple mechanics add up to an overall gripping and exciting gameplay! The game shines as an individual title with interesting story and interesting designs, clearly presenting the overall abnormality of the world around the player. The character design only adds to the feeling, making each encounter unique, and every chapter of the game as memorable as it can be!

And, of course, the original score is awesome, if you're a fan of "The Living Tombstone". If not, it's still an absolute banger!

I strongly advise you to play the game! It's worth it!

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this game I wanted to give it a review. I bought it in a sale sometime last year based on reviews at the time and have just gotten around to playing it through.
What I think works well in this game is it has solid pacing. Each level has a unique main threat that pursues you throughout and you are given a new tool/weapon to deal with it and solve puzzles. The puzzles are not that difficult, nor are they overly simple. They don't exactly hold your hand with quest markers cluttering the screen but instead allow you to gleam points of interest with a neat item you receive early on. The new tools you obtain also allow you to open new areas and secrets in the apartment hub you return to between levels.
The story is a mystery with each level being like a nightmare based around the main character's patient's issues and anxieties. As you get further in you discover how they are all linked to a larger conspiracy. I felt pulled in by each patient's story and was satisfied by how they ended.
The combat is serviceable, breaking up the puzzle solving on the buildup to each level's boss.
Have to mention some good quality of life features. You can replay any level from the hub. After beating each level's boss you can remain in the level and backtrack to hunt for secret collectables that increase certain stats. You can grab them while you progress through the level normally but it's nice to know that you won't by locked out of them by progressing too far.
Overall a solid game with some great ideas and variety without much padding.
