What's the point of fishing?

Besides getting a little extra cash, I don't see any other point. at least that's that I've collected thus far.

Yeah. It's just for fun getting cash. I do wish they had like a compendium of monsters and fish you caught along with other things

The point is catching tuna and treasure turtles, I think. Worth 41 and 40 respectively. Or whats the best you guys've caught?

I've fished about 30 or so times and got only 1s and 3s. Nothing much. I just did it for the fun of it.
Money isn't really an issue in this game. by the time you get the rod, you're already rich enough to buy everything from Cera as soon as she has max friendship. there's no pacifist achievement this time so no real incentive to not kill everything you see.

You are unbelievably unlucky. I fished like 6 times got a tuna, got another after ~10 times total. Went to the fishing spot in the home village got mostly crabs (or was it carps) worth 5, a tuna and the treasure turtle in another ~10 times. (might've caught 2 turtles)

I feel like theres just gotta be a megarare catch with value in the hundreds tho..

There are megacatches, biggest I got was worth 1000, but there are also smaller ones that are still worth it.

Not sure if the fortune sigil helps here.

You have the chance to get big ones! its nice for a relaxing time in the game

but yes, I am unbelievably unlucky. Today I learned it is possible to get more than 3 per catch lol. Still can't get one myself but hey...

I equiped it immediately got a moon jellyfish worthy 500 and then never again, dunno.

Edit: It was the boats fishing spot maybe that has something to do with it.
