❓Hard or chill❓
I completed the first part, it didn’t seem difficult to me, but I don’t like platform games where you have to wait for timings and where you have to constantly go back.

Is this a story driven adventure or is this game not for me?

You know, “You came to the boss, but you are too low level for him or you don’t have the necessary sword for additional damage, go back”

"You have opened a new location, but the enemies here are still too strong, you need to upgrade your.
Or you don't have the skill you need (like double jump), so go back and look for it"

Mmm, well there's some map exploration puzzles like most metroidvania's. It's kind of a hard game so finding all the secrets in rooms can help you with upgrades stats. But honestly you could go in doing very minimal upgrades and win boss battles. This games hard in general so if you know how to dodge you'll be fine no matter what. It's just if it gets too hard it might help to seek out collectible hidden upgrades

Out of the box the game has two difficulties and the sigils more or less give you the tools you need to beat the game hardest difficulty out of the box.

If you get +/- all the upgrades, the game becomes too easy.

The game has an easy mode option right at the start, and most HP/attack upgrades are very easy to spot just by exploring a bit. If anything, I'm finding bosses so easy so far (about 3.5 hours in, and just fought the snake boss), I kinda wish there was a hard mode for a blind playthrough, because Reverie Under the Moonlight was much harder than this on Normal, and I thought its difficulty balance was just about perfect.

There is a hardcore game mode unlookable in the first area of the game hidden behind a fake wall with secret text. If you drop underneath the ground next to that area, there is a bloody pool that unlocks hardcore game mode. You die, you need to start from scratch.

It's a metroidvania, so there will be backtracking. There is a story, but the game isn't really story-driven. The atmosphere is really chill, but the game is combat-focused and it does expect you to rise to meet it. I wouldn't say it's "hard", but that line is different for everybody.

I'd say it's on the same level of difficulty as Super Metroid or Symphony of the Night. If you don't like those games, you won't like this game.
