The first thing is to uninstall the game, check that no files are in the Steam game directory and reinstall the game.
If that does not work, the corrupted file is probably in the saved datas.
You can have a look at this page for hints about how to check that saved datas:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/1448780/discussions/0/3051737278927352822/
Data files are usually stored in such directory:
C:\Users\*your user name*\AppData\Roaming\Jewel Match Twilight3 Collector's Edition
You have 3 possibilities:
1 - (quit the game) - >delete the whole JMT roaming directory and the next time you run the game, it will start from scratch. That's the 'easy' path.
2 - make an archive, or copy all the directory and subdirectories onto another disk. Delete the original files from C\users\etc.... If the game run, it means that there is indeed a wrong file somewhere in that thousand of files ;/. Copy back into the roaming directory the files that you previously stored. Check for a subdirectory named "player0_lvl_xx" where xx is the latest level that you reached. You shall find a file "config.bin" in that directory. Copy it over the file that is in the main directory as there are good chances that this is the corrupted file (althought not always the case).
With luck, running the game would work and you may be able to continue the game somehow where you stopped.
3 - If 2) failed, and if you really, really want to keep your game progress, I can explain you how to recover your game datas from one of the subdirectories (the game progress is stored at each level), but it is a bit tedious.
Copying that directory will not solve anything, it is just a backup if you want to try option 2) or 3).
Delete the directory "Jewel Match Twilight3 Edition Collector" and then run the game. If the game was running before, it shall work, but of course, deleting it will reset all your game progress (but not your Steam achievments).
I also tried:
- 1920x1080 but same situation. When game exit, she changed my resolution to 4K.
- I have dual-desktop (2 monitors), disabled second monitor (I also set FullHD on main) but doesn't help.
