Playtest Delayed by About One Month

Hey everyone,

We’re announcing a short delay to the free For the Hive playtest. (about one month)
There are a few final things that still need work before we’re ready, including:

UI improvements
Animation implementation
General bug fixing

We’re really close, and we appreciate your patience. As this is our first time releasing anything publicly, it’s been a huge learning experience—and we want to make sure it’s something we’re proud to share.

We’ll be posting a video update soon to show the current state of the game. It’s looking good, and we’re nearly there.

New Character Reveal – The Wolf Spider Has Entered the Hive!

We’re excited to introduce a brand-new fighter in For the Hive: the Wolf Spider!

Forget webs—this fierce predator doesn’t wait for prey. The Wolf Spider chases it down, pouncing with lethal force. With a terrifying blend of speed, venom, and aggression, it’s built for pure hunt-style combat.

🕸️ Key traits:

No webs. No mercy. Wolf spiders chase and strike—fast and brutal.
Venomous attacks wear down opponents even after the initial blow.
Low armor, but incredibly agile. Dodge, flank, and go for the kill.
A nightmare for slower bugs trying to flee.
We can’t wait to see how you use this relentless hunter in the upcoming playtest.

Insects you want to see

I hope they add Polistes fuscatus, and Polistes gigas to the game. Being a colony sim, they will need the bald faced hornet, and the Japanese giant hornet as well. Those are my wishlist buggies. What do you guys want to see added?

wanna be hyped

saw this and wanted to be really happy. but then i saw singleplayer only. is there ever gonna be multiplayer in a sort of DayZ kind of server? persistant world. for example, when you go offline, your bug goes to sleep. enemie bugs can raid/attack you?

I have had this game added to my wish list for a while, but don't know much about the concepts. I just wanted to know if the premise of the game is that you can play as different insects and different classes for those that have different sub types like termites? Could you play a soldier termite or a worker termite or the King? Also in terms of game play is you goal to reproduce and increase numbers? Gain control of territory and collect resources?
