Wind Turbines not working?

I can't seem to find a lot of information on this but I'm in middle of thunderstorm that is showing 'wind effects' and sound and the like, yet it doesn't seem like the wind turbine I just built generates any power? The turbine is animated but not sure if it is always animated even with no wind. Am I missing something?

Hi there. The wind turbines will start working after one night of sleep from when you built them. I’m sure you likely figured it out by now but wanted to answer anyway for any future people who might wonder the same.
