Hello everyone! The mod teams from across discord and the steam forums got together to make this FAQ of questions we are seeing pop up a few times. While we do cover several areas, it may not cover all of your questions. Feel free to continue posting your questions in the relevant places once you have searched around a bit to see if the topic has already been answered or addressed. We may make a part 2 if we see more questions arise, especially as updates come in the future. Thank you!

Q: How can I find more information about ___?

A: The in-game tutorials are your best bet usually, using the tutorials app on your phone. Otherwise, searching around the (discord[discord.gg]) or the (steam forums) is a good place to start since there may be others with similar questions and have already received answers. The (wiki[sunnysidegame.fandom.com]) is also being updated by players like you with new information as it gets discovered.

Q: Where do I report a bug or quality of life feature?

A: While the steam forums and the discord are good places for that, an even better place is RainyBugs[rainybugs.veratil.dev]. This is what the developers check most often since the other areas can sometimes be really busy and easy to miss messages. They want to make the game better, so it is really helpful when the feedback is all in one place.

Q: Where can I listen to the soundtrack outside of the game?

A: You can find it on spotify here[open.spotify.com]!

Q: Where to buy more Ofuda Packs?

A: You can buy more in front of the building that's to the left of the tree when walking up the steps to the shrine.

Q: Where to get sand/water?

A: You use the bucket on the beach to get sand, and you can use the bucket on the water hose to get water as an item.

Q: I'm sleeping but the game isn't saving my progress! Am I doing something wrong?

A: Some players are reporting this and one possible cause is that the system's antivirus is quarantining/blocking the files when it shouldn't be. While the dev team works on a fix, adding the files in question to the exceptions of your antivirus should do the trick.

Q: Photos that I take on my phone in game are not saving to my computer? I cant find them in the game file folder.

Q: I have a quest marker, but when I get there the quest cutscene does not trigger?

A: If it is a shop, make sure you are at the location on a day and time they are open (you can check this in the map app). If you arrive to an area before the place opens and wait around for them to open, you will need to walk away from the shop slightly and back into it to trigger the cutscene.

Q: The clock stopped! What happened?

A: The game is designed to stop the clock on day 1, so you will never pass out day 1. There is a bug that causes the clock to get stuck outside of day 1, that’s different.

Q: When building it says "I need to clear the space first"

A: Make sure there is no grass within the blueprint area. Sometimes the grass can be small and hard to see! (can use your light!) Then take a step back to make sure you aren’t standing in the build before trying again.

Q: Flashlight?

A: Once you unlock sparky he has a light you can access from the top left of your inventory menu. There is a light on your bike that you can use as well. There is also a light on your drone but you can't use that while running around.

Q: Where can I sell stuff? Is there a shipping bin?

A: There is no shipping bin in Sunnyside. You can sell your items at your booth the farmers market every other Sunday. Or you can sell them around town to different shops. Certain shops buy certain things. For example blacksmith doesn’t want to buy your potatoes. The items will highlight green in your inventory if you are selling them at the right shop.

Q: I planted some crops, and as soon as they were about to fruit they died!

A: In this game you can grow crops in certain seasons, and they fruit in others. For example, If something grows in spring/summer and fruits in summer. You may try to plan out planting to have most of the grow time in spring, so it can fruit all summer! Make sure to check the table in the SunnySeed or PlantDaddy app to plan accordingly!

Q: I have an ultrawide monitor and I cant see things well/stuff is stretched/ cut off.

A: The game still needs to be optimized for ultrawide. Until that is resolved some players say playing in windowed mode helps.

Q: Where do I find fertilizer?

A: It is unlocked through one of the main questlines. You'll get a quest specifically about fertilizer. After that quest you can buy it at LadyBug or make your own through the compost blueprint you get at the end of the quest.

Q: How do I save the game?

A: When you go to bed at your tent (or your bed if you get that far). (This post) goes into more detail as to why, with the developer response copied below:

"Just wanted to clear something up:
We're a small dev team, and sadly a "save any time" function was outside of our capabilities. This means that in the full game you'll only be able to save when you sleep. We tried VERY hard to implement "save any time" but we just couldn't get it to work, especially not within our limited time frame and budget."

Q: How do I level food crafting?

A: To start, you need to level up the food craft skill by unlocking the drying rack from the mechanic. You unlock more food crafting machines through the skill tree as you progress that skill. Once unlocking more machines with the skill tree, they become available for sale at the mechanic/saiyatek. These machines also help with leveling food crafting.

Short fences can stop wild animals from stealing crops, from what i played you don't even to fully surround it, you can leave a few "squares" open so you can walk in to he fenced farm.

To be specific, you have to use full sized fences. The shorter fences don't keep them out.

Wait, for real? I never lost even once of my 200 or so flowers on just short fences, but I did lost several other plants, even more, I was losing plants constantly from a strawberry patch until I used a short fence around them, was I just geting lucky? we need turrets...can we have sparky-like defense turrets to zap away thievs please?

I fell in platonic love with the general shop keeper right away and then shortly found out her birthday was in a few days...I tried everything I could think of to give her a gift... was there any way I could have given her a birthday gift?

Was looking through the frequently asked questions but I didn't see what I was looking for so I was wondering if anyone knew how we access more farmland I've been seeing these lots on the map I was wondering what we have to do to purchase those.

I've never done this myself, but I believe you have to go to the sign on the other lots and you can purchase the land.

Is there a way to automate crop harvesting and/or animal care?

Can you add button information when left click in pack seeds. i buy seeds and when receive them, don't know any information about seed,about time plant, level to grow...? I must go to sunny seed app to check information seed, and can you add App "information about character", i want to know level of harvest or planting or mining, but can't see anywhere.
Besides can you add location of villager on maps, so we can find where they are.

I don't have the game but my girlfriend does and from seeing her play it and SDV, I needed to ask: will there be an option to rename animals/pets some day?
