SunnySide

Why does SunnySide have such low positive user rating reviews? Why does SunnySide only have 55% positive user rating reviews.
Since SunnySide fully released it has only gotten a 55% positive user rating reviews! That is an extremely low percentage of positive reviews!

I was trying to decide if I want to purchase this game or not so I want to know why so many players are giving it a bad review and not recommending the game.

I want to know what problems, issues, bug or complaints players are having with SunnySide so that way I can decide if i should purchase SunnySide or not.

I was going to suggest you read the Not Recommended review by Luna and the Recommended review by Stormy as they are the two best reviews given for and against the game as far as I'm concerned but I seen that you left a comment under Luna's review already.

I honestly believe that other than those players experiencing optimization issues resulting in substantial lag, many of the Not Recommended reviews are way too critical of a game that is offering as much as it is. Yes, it has its share of issues but many of the reviewers leaving a negative review are acting as if every game should be up for Game of the Year before it should receive a Recommended review. I'm not exaggerating there either. Many of the negative reviews are much too critical of the game, in my eyes.

Nonetheless, if I was you, I'd try the Demo and see if what it offers is your cup of tea as it gives enough playtime to give a good enough overall impression of what you can expect of the full game.

Once you do, if you do decide to do so, follow up your demo playthrough by responding to this same topic what you thought of it.

Then, taking it one step further, if you actually decide to purchase the game afterwards, leave a review of your full game playthrough here as well as your review may change from what it was after having played the demo.

I can tell you, that I have a lot of hours in this game. I understand the ups and down of this game, but you know what? I still played to have my own experience.

If you cook a dish and you ask 100 people what do they think about it, you will have 100 different experience. ;)

I believe there is one best experience and that is your own. I play the game even I know people talk negative, I love the game, I believe have potential and I have see the developer working on fix it.

I wish you a nice day. :)

My review is a split review but Steam doesn't allow that. Since what drew me to the game and what ultimately disappointed me about the game were the same things my review went negative.

If you don't care about the social aspects at all it can be a good game. It's pretty and the farming is enjoyable. The mine and combat is pretty fun.

But the game was heavily sold and recommended around prior to launch as being very in dept social sim unlike other farming sims. But once playing you don't get to make any choices for your character and basically follow a pre-planned story, you just get to choose who you talk to or date and where you go but there's no dialogue choices that matter and your character can be quite rude at times, and no choices to do anything about it.

Now if people were randomly mad the game isn't the type of game they wanted that would be weird, but it's the fact it isn't what it was promised to be. They have fixed issues and changed some things on feedback, which is great, but I don't expect a total rework of the social system.

It's a pretty world to grow a farm in but that's mainly what it's got going for it. So it could be great for you if that's what you are looking for.

I agree with you that you are the best person to judge whether you like the game or not. People can not recommend it but at the end of the day its you that needs to choose what you want to play and experience.

Anutha, I'm not gonna lie, that flusters me so much in the best of ways aaaah ;w; <33

Gregory, it's a pretty simple answer honestly. Do you like the farming sim/cozy life genre as a whole? If so, there is a good chance there is /something/ you'll enjoy about the game and that might make it worth it to you.

I'll openly agree that a lot of the negative reviews for the game are kind of a bit wonky. SunnySide's not the most polished or a contender for one of the best in the genre, but the sheer amount of love within it made me keep playing it and I have zero regrets at all. I really, really hope it improves over time, or that the developers take what they've learned to make another game in a few years.

If you find yourself unsure? You can always watch videos or wait until there is a sale.
Because of performance, I guess. Have much love for this game. But performance is still bad and I don't know, how it can run smoothly on consoles.

From my understanding, performance on any pc game that is also ported to consoles is easier to get to work on consoles performance wise because it's easier for the developers to work with the specs on the consoles because there are much less specs to have to get the game to work properly on consoles compared to that of pc's.

That's why you are not seeing the majority of pc users experiencing performance issues because pc user specs are so wide ranging. Console specs are nowhere near anything like this so the developer can make the necessary tweaks to the game during its porting so that it runs smoothly since each console's hardware are pretty much the same.

game is not bad optymalization too. the best thing is modern approach to farming, no watering cane we have sprinkers water energy etc. we have standard tools what are not upgrafded from rusty to diamond, seeds bought by internet. game have very fresh view. not all people like this yes its not perfect but i think is hard to get something like this game with this aproach. most games are just copy of harvest moon here the devs try do something more what is nice.
The answer is: people may have different opinions what is worth spending 30 on and what they want out of a farming sim.

Many will seek what they think it can be, but many may see what it is, and not like it.

(This is a very generalized answer, I have a lot of criticisms of the game, but *right* now it's at a barely positive balance point.)

The answer is in your question.
Since SunnySide fully released it has only gotten a 55% positive user rating reviews!
And that’s the crux of the issue : this IS a full release, yet the game is in an (early) early access state. And well, people tend to be much less lenient when they expect a finished product and receive a beta version than when they get an unfinished game that is labelled as such.

As I say in my own review, the game was released with a heavy backlog on the bug-tracking site. In other words, devs released a buggy game with full knowledge of this fact.

Once again, don’t get me started on the performance issues.

So yeah, the game has potential and that would net a lot of positive reviews for an early access game ; but for an actual release, you don’t want potential, you want to see it fulfilled – and it fails to do so. I certainly hope it goes the No Man’s Sky route and get its redemption arc but as it is currently… you can probably trust the reviews to reflect the state of the game.

I'm hesitating as well, I think I'll wait until it is on sale for a good price. I watched a few videos about the gameplay and well... I don't want to pay full price for this game. I got misled on one game before, so I'm gonna make my own choice mainly by videos. That way I can see how it plays and decide on a better decision then.

The game still has a demo it lets you play till day 10 on a save. You can play till day 10 on different saves if you want to explore different aspects more closely in each.

Yes. Fields of Mistria proves this very well. Less than a third of the story in game, and has a ton of bugs, including game breaking ones, but it has Overwhelmingly positive reviews. This would not have been the case if it was e.a. even if it did have all the story in it. Most players are very forgiving of flaws when a game has the e.a. label on it.

Demos don't usually let you do much, so I'll need to do more then just test the demo before I decide.

Have you tried the demo yet to see if you will like how it presents itself at minimum?

You're thinking about buying the game, it has a demo available to get a first-hand look and feel for how it plays but don't want to try it out because it won't provide enough material to get a real feel for it?
