A Few Questions (New to Game)
Hi! I just recorded an episode and streamed the game recently and didnt know how to do a few things. During the stream I quickly googled and found no info on the game, so I decided to ask here.

1) I bought short rice, filled the bucket with 17 units of water. Then, I go into the rice cooker screen. What am I supposed to do now? The tutorial doesnt bother explaining it. I put water bucket at the bottom of the wheel and short rice at top, no go. I put three rice with one bucket and still no luck. I press the "on" button, which does nothing. What do I need to do?

2) How do I start fishing? I went to the tackle store and I can only sell.

3) I had the quest to go to the fair on Sunday. I went there, checked out all the shops, but didnt know if I completed the quest or not. Again, the map marker and mission guide doesnt bother to specify.

4) How do you make money? Ive been spending money and Im worried Im going to run out. I thought growing veggies would be quick so I could start selling those perhaps, but they take a long time. Perhaps I could chop down wood or rocks and sell those? Where do I sell those if that is an option?

5) Some girls birthday is tomorrow, do I need to get her a gift or anything? Is there anything special I need to do? Im scared to sleep to the next day and miss out for not having something.

6) I also see I lvled up and keep getting xp for exploring. What do I do with that info? The game hasnt told me anything about it yet.

Thanks! Performance isnt great, and I really hope you focus on optimizing first. Besides that and getting stuck on things not explained in the game, Im really enjoying it. Im glad I got a bicycle now, Im finally gonna be able to explore the town and start talking to people.

1) The rice cooker has 4 spaces. You can place the item in any order, but you need the right amount. You will need 2 water and 1 short grain rice. You will see a button in the center you need to press that, and also turn on the rice cooker.

2)You will have a message from Kyle about going to see him for that, just wait for his message. You can fish anywhere.

3) To complete that you will need to sell your products in your booth. Go to the empty booth with the red storage and click on it, you need to place all the products you want to sell there and then click again to open your booth to sell. Note that you need to pick up anything you didn't sell, by my experience I have lost it because I forgot.

4)The best way to make money in this game is by selling fish and by mining. Sell your fish and your gems, but also sell your farm crops you want it.
You can sell flexible bamboo, sticks, berries and mushroom from the start to make easy money.
Note stores buy anything that show green in your backpack.

5) During birthday you can call them and ask to hangout, and there is an option to give them a birthday gift. Note that this needs a quest to be active.

6) You will get experience point by fishing, farming, exploring, cooking, etc. You will need then to get new skills in the shrine. Note this will be active by a quest.

The games have some bugs and the developers are working on them.

Hope this help and I am sure others will help you too.

Just want to tell you that you can sell in the farmer market food you have cook.

1) You have to put the right amounts for the recipe in, not extra.

2) you'll be given a fishing rod after awhile if you follow the quests.

3) you need to sell something at the market. You have your own stall. This feels like it was made clear to me but you may have missed some info, it's easy for streamers to miss things since they need to read chat too.

4) you can sell to stores that want your items, like grocery wont want your iron but might want your carrots. And at the Sunday market, but it's every other Sunday. So now you'll have to wait awhile to complete that.

5) you don't NEED to but it can help raise friendship points. You can mail a gift to her or give her a gift after a hangout, but you need to become friendly before the hangout option appears.

6) the skill tree to spend the points comes later in the story, if you follow the quest line.

If you've not played farming sims before this might be a rough one to start with.

Thank you both for the answers! That helps a lot. Some things I just need to wait to progress the story, other things I just missed and need to revisit. I now understand how cooking works. You have to read the recipe and it will tell you the amount of what ingredient you need, I wasnt looking at the amount but just the name (water and rice, not 2x water). Yes, its easy to miss during streams!

I saw a stall at the marketplace that looked empty, I think that was my spot but I didnt see anything pop up. I need to revisit and make sure I look at the storage.

EDIT: I have a new question. I got mail in the mail box, how do I open it?

1) You already figured this one out.

2) Visit the Bait and Tackle Shop on the far Southeast corner of the city, there you can purchase your robs and baits for fishing.

3) You have to actually participate in the Fair for the quest to be completed. It happens twice a month so you have plenty of time. Sell whatever you like. I made 4k from just selling milk {Whole, Rich, and Very Rich} the one time I participated.

4) Money was one of my concerns when starting as well. I stockpiled wood and learned the areas where I could get wood. I started by selling a few stacks of SoftWood at the Woodworks to make some money. Then once I went into the caves and started going deeper, the gems you get out of there are worth ALOT! The further down you go the more they are worth and the more you sell, the more money you receive. Note: don't sell all of your gems because you need them to open the doors and such in the caves as well. I keep 10 of each gem I find and sell the rest. This has kept me with money when I need it. {Currently have 20k}. You can sell gems at Ishikawa Jewelry behind the Blacksmith shop and his house. Also NEVER sell all of your wood, you will need alot of it for all that you will be building (Your house, Barn, Fences, Furniture, etc}. But a stack or two here and there shouldn't hurt too much.

5) If you are romancing that person, it wouldn't hurt to give them a gift if you know what they like. If not, no harm no foul this time around. You can give it to them next year once you learn what they like. there is a Fandom Wiki Page that can help with what they like: https://sunnysidegame.fandom.com/wiki/Residents Don't expect too much from that page right now, it's still being filled in with stuff as the game progresses it looks like.

6) All of the leveling of skills will come into play when you open the Skill Tree. All of the leveling you are doing will open up Skills and Rewards on the Skill Tree. Keep doing what you're doing and it will make sense once you can see it on the tree.

7) Yes, yes you can open mail in the mailbox. Its your mail. lol! The mailbox is also where you get your seeds and saplings as well. To SEND mail {I.e. complete some of the quests}, you will need to visit the Post Office.

I had alot of questions too when I started this game in the beta. Thankfully, the Devs are patching and fixing as the game and the playership grows. Hope my answers helped you understand a bit more.
