Just want to tell you that you can sell in the farmer market food you have cook.
2) you'll be given a fishing rod after awhile if you follow the quests.
3) you need to sell something at the market. You have your own stall. This feels like it was made clear to me but you may have missed some info, it's easy for streamers to miss things since they need to read chat too.
4) you can sell to stores that want your items, like grocery wont want your iron but might want your carrots. And at the Sunday market, but it's every other Sunday. So now you'll have to wait awhile to complete that.
5) you don't NEED to but it can help raise friendship points. You can mail a gift to her or give her a gift after a hangout, but you need to become friendly before the hangout option appears.
6) the skill tree to spend the points comes later in the story, if you follow the quest line.
If you've not played farming sims before this might be a rough one to start with.
I saw a stall at the marketplace that looked empty, I think that was my spot but I didnt see anything pop up. I need to revisit and make sure I look at the storage.
EDIT: I have a new question. I got mail in the mail box, how do I open it?
1) You already figured this one out.
2) Visit the Bait and Tackle Shop on the far Southeast corner of the city, there you can purchase your robs and baits for fishing.
3) You have to actually participate in the Fair for the quest to be completed. It happens twice a month so you have plenty of time. Sell whatever you like. I made 4k from just selling milk {Whole, Rich, and Very Rich} the one time I participated.
4) Money was one of my concerns when starting as well. I stockpiled wood and learned the areas where I could get wood. I started by selling a few stacks of SoftWood at the Woodworks to make some money. Then once I went into the caves and started going deeper, the gems you get out of there are worth ALOT! The further down you go the more they are worth and the more you sell, the more money you receive. Note: don't sell all of your gems because you need them to open the doors and such in the caves as well. I keep 10 of each gem I find and sell the rest. This has kept me with money when I need it. {Currently have 20k}. You can sell gems at Ishikawa Jewelry behind the Blacksmith shop and his house. Also NEVER sell all of your wood, you will need alot of it for all that you will be building (Your house, Barn, Fences, Furniture, etc}. But a stack or two here and there shouldn't hurt too much.
5) If you are romancing that person, it wouldn't hurt to give them a gift if you know what they like. If not, no harm no foul this time around. You can give it to them next year once you learn what they like. there is a Fandom Wiki Page that can help with what they like: https://sunnysidegame.fandom.com/wiki/Residents Don't expect too much from that page right now, it's still being filled in with stuff as the game progresses it looks like.
6) All of the leveling of skills will come into play when you open the Skill Tree. All of the leveling you are doing will open up Skills and Rewards on the Skill Tree. Keep doing what you're doing and it will make sense once you can see it on the tree.
7) Yes, yes you can open mail in the mailbox. Its your mail. lol! The mailbox is also where you get your seeds and saplings as well. To SEND mail {I.e. complete some of the quests}, you will need to visit the Post Office.
I had alot of questions too when I started this game in the beta. Thankfully, the Devs are patching and fixing as the game and the playership grows. Hope my answers helped you understand a bit more.
