Dog never arrives

I have a dog bed in shelter (in my house), food and water bowl. I go to buy a dog (the only animal I purchase that day to avoid the multiple animal buying bug) go home, go to sleep, and the dog never arrives. The bed is still unoccupied and the animal app doesn't list the dog. This has happened twice now, I'm reluctant to waste more money on a pet that never gets delivered. Is there something I can do to get around this?

Just to confirm, you did complete the purchase on the store reciept after picking the bed?
(I screwed that up once by thinking the purchase was complete after the bed selection.)

That seems to be it thanks! Seems a bit unintuitive, especially since I'm not the only one who thought it was complete. Hopefully something they can improve in a later patch

Glad you figured it out. It took me a few tries to realize where I was going wrong.
