Snap to grid?
I really like how building works and the fact you can put down a layout. I'm a bit of a stickler for straight paths and how I'd like to divide things up. Will there be a snap to grid option or is there one that I'm missing?

Thank you!

Added your suggestion to RainyBugs: https://rainybugs.veratil.dev/bug/840/. In the future, use this website for bugs and suggestions so that the team can keep it all in one place. Thank you!

I see that the link you posted here indicates one upvote for that suggestion but no way to click on the upvote to increase it.

Are we supposed to be able to upvote suggestions to increase the likelihood of them being implemented in the game?

Upvotes are to show how many people share in a post. A higher number would bring it to the attention of the devs faster but nothing is guaranteed to make it in. But it definitely helps. I have never tried to upvote myself but there should be a way to do so on the site since I've seen some posts with more upvotes.

Edit: To upvote there should be an emote on the "upvotes" button that you can click when you're inside that post itself. Unsure if you need to be signed in or not though. Hope this helps!

Okay, you need to be logged in to that site before you see the emote and have the ability to upvote.

Also, for this given suggestion, it might be a good idea to include the description that was provided here on Steam for it instead of just a link back to the Steam page for it.

True, though since it wasn't my suggestion I wouldn't feel comfortable summarizing the post beyond what is said in the title. This is why I sometimes encourage the person to post it themselves. But for this suggestion I figured the team would understand from the title alone and will inquire/research further if not. For everyone else I suggest to explain the request/bug fully.

There are grid options. When in build camera there's a "grid size" button in the bottom left that defaults to 0, if you press it then it enables the grid to 1, or a small plot.

Yes~ I've been using it as an overall guide. It's just when I want to make a completely straight line say for a long path, it can be hard without the cursor snapping to the grid as you move the path into the distance. I enjoy the free form but it would be great to have the ability to snap paths to the grid.
Its a good idea especially say for making fences, because when digging up plots they are perfectly placed, and you could potentially waste precious planting space if a fence is skewed a bit when it seemed to be straight when placing it.

I also like the fact you can place at whatever angle you like too, makes for interesting layouts. So being able to switch between them is a good idea for sure.

There's a bit of snapping in the game, but if one side is off it ends up being slightly crooked when trying to fence in trees or crops or animal areas. So, having a snapping system based on the grid would be great. I spend way too much time trying to get fences perfectly lined up. Lots of deleting and replacing until I eventually give up lol Right now the grid is helpful as a guide but not for ensuring straight lines.
