Can't Add Water to the Dog Bowl

So I bought a dog, and I have the food bowl and water bowl down, and have added food to the one. But I can't figure out how to get water in it. Use the hose? No. Use the bucket? No. Since that the the #1 and #2 most logical ways, how exactly do I add water to the bowl> Does the dog appear after I do that?

Is the bowl outside? I've noticed t doesnt let me refill my water bowls (for my chickens) outside when its raining sometimes so maybe its already full?

If it's already full, then where is my dog? I had assumed it would just show up when the bowls were places, the same way that the bike just "showed up" when the stand was placed.

Did you buy other animals on the same day you bought the dog? There's a bug where people aren't receiving all the animals they buy. I've had the same thing happen even if I have only bought one animal.

The only animal that I bought was the dog, the same day my neighbor took me to get the grill and the bike. I have both of those, just not the dog. Am I supposed to summon the dog? Is there some process I am supposed to do to activate/retrieve/call the dog?

Go to your phone and check the animals app to see if you have a dog listed. If not you just might have to buy another one.

Use the bucket at the hose which will give you water as an inventory item. Then you can use that water item to fill your bowl.

The dog will just appear at your house the day avfter you bought it.
