How to force Squad Auto Power use off?

Now I know there is an option in the menu to disable squad member automatically using their powers, and I even tracked down the relevant default entry in BIOgame.ini and changed it to 0 - trouble is, it doesn't work. They still auto-use their powers, and it's ruining my game because they use them at the stupidest times.

Any ideas?

There are three settings in the menu: On, Off, and Defensive. Defensive includes abilities like Barrier and Immunity, and squadmates will use those the second they take damage.

Demoman, thank you for your reply. But clearly you haven't read my post all that well - I tried that, as well as forcing it in the game's default input.int code. And it didn't work.
Any other ideas?

Do you have bring down the sky installed? that also includes the game patch

If you don't have the dlc its free on origin though you will probs have to go through tech support for the redeem code ... Nightmare
