Best Squad?

I'm new to the original Mass Effect (I've played 2 and 3) and don't really know much all the characters abilities so i was wondering what the best squad configuration is (i have all the squad members by the way). I'm pretty sure Liara is pretty good with her biotics.

It really all depends on what class you are, sooooo what class are you then people will be able to give you the best selection of characters for your squad

then for that class i would go with for my 1st character Kaiden/Tali or Garrus, because these are the Tech specialists
2nd character Liara/Wrex or Kaiden because these are your Biotic specialists

In your tech character you want to get Decrytion and Electronic's up as a priority(this allows you to unlock containers and lockers) but put some points into their weapon and shields/armor aswel

i making alot of those lately

Anyway if i were to play a soldier class i would take Liara and Tali

with Tali i would focus on the 2 skills i have mentioned, plus i'd also put points into her Shotgun skill and Basic armor plus some points into her specialist skill(can't remember what its called) i think the shotgun is the best weapon in the game, other people have their favorites but you can't go wrong with the shotgun

Decryption and Electronic's you only need to get to Master level to be able to unlock everything

And for Liara take your pick, what ever skills you want, she has an abundance of useful skills for any situation

But any combination of those i listed in the previous post will work well for you, my favorite squad is Wrex and Tali but i usually play either a Sentinal/Vanguard or Infiltrator

It depends on your class, as stated above.

I like to have balance, personally.

So as a Vanguard (1/2 Biotic, 1/2 Combat), two of the best teams for me is:
-Garrus (1/2 Tech, 1/2 Combat), Kaidan (1/2 Tech, 1/2 Biotic)
-Tali (Full Tech), Wrex (1/2 Biotic, 1/2 Combat)

But really, I just need one good tech user, and then the other one depends on what my focus is on as a Vanguard (either more adepty or more soldiery).

This is just an example. The above two teams are what I use most often (especially Kaidan, as I'm 'story grooming' him to be Shepard's Love Interest in ME3), but I still also use Ashley (until certain events) and Liara.

For Soldier (Full Combat), using my above model, the 'best' teams to take would be:
-Liara (Full Biotic), Tali (Full Tech)
-Kaidan (1/2 Tech, 1/2 Biotic), and either Garrus (1/2 Tech, 1/2 Combat) or Wrex (1/2 Biotic, 1/2 Combat) (not Tali or Liara as that's too 'unbalanced', and especially not Ashley)

But again, you don't NEED to do this. Just try to make sure:
1)You have each type represented to some degree (still isn't essential to win)
2)Having a Techy one to unlock containers is really helpful (though also still not essential to complete the game, just highly suggested)

Yeah i think i will probably use Liara and Tali from now on.
