can you revisit planets?
working my way through the first ice planet with all the intrigue and there's heaps of locked stuff, do I have to start over or can I come back to the planet and open up all the crates?

ahhh cheers man, first playthrough and after a series of games like minecraft and dark souls where a walkthrough is pretty much required just to know what you're doing I was hoping for a game where I wouldn't have to consult a manual every time I start a fresh planet.

quick ammendment, on that ice planet you _can_ revisit it but you can't go back out of the main structure, meaning you miss about 2 dozen loot boxes if you don't grab em on the first go. Was able to grab a heavy armour human suit from inside though, which is pretty much what I wanted anyway. Will be bringing garrus for tech/sniping on all future missions.

ffs, as always, somehow I try for side missions and end up picking the hardest missions first, then when I'm going through the game in normal order I'm overpowered, lol

all up in the BROmethian tower atm, in heavy armour with mk IV assault rifles loaded with putin pulonium and skill in that maxed out and heavy armour, doing a run through with garrus and the gas mask chick, need absolutely neither of them except for looting abilities (normal difficulty). Typical sit there and get ♥♥♥♥ canned while grinding for about however long it takes you to get used to the controller then the rest of the game is a cake walk if you do exactly the opposite of what the plot line wants you to.
Only "cheat" I had to use was to enable command ~ to get past point 15 when the game glitched, rather glad the game carries over now.

This is a good continuation, if you're into books check out the Ringworld triolgy by Larry Niven for species, Starshiptroopers by Robert Heinlein for scifi naval theory and look up Star Control 2, you'll need a walkthrough to play it unless you've memorised the star clusters and even then it'd be hard, wonderful game that one. Dated, but a classic.

Oh, and Voyage of The Space Beagle by A.E Van Vought, ♥♥♥♥ ton of DnD stuff was ripped out of his acid trips.
