Garrus, Wrex, and Jenna
I've always talked to Rita about getting Jenna out of Chora's Den before picking up Garrus or Wrex.

You can't talk to Chellick about Jenna without bumping into Wrex.

Picking up either Garrus or Wrex will cause Chora's Den to go hostile.

If you were to add Garraus and Wrex to your squad before talking to Rita, will she be around later? Would she still be there after you raided Chora's Den?

Do you have to add squad members when you first meet them? Can you say goodbye, but come back for them later? Would doing so keep Chora's Den from going hostile, at least until Garrus and Wrex are actually part of your squad?

Good question. I don't think you can refuse them as squad members. However, I think Jenna isn't part of the fight there, and you can resolve the side-plot with her later.
I don't think you're supposed to be able to solve it before the fight.

You can solve/get the mission after Chora's Den. Yeah, it doesn't make linear sense but I got the mission after I got Garrus and Wrex so I know it works.

Yeah you wont have any issue with the quest after you recruit Garrus or Wrex, Wrex is normally in all of my squads and i always manage to complete the quest

Garrus on the other hand is a missable character for the game, if you refuse him, then i think you only have one more chance at recruiting him, and if you miss that opportunity he will be gone from the game for the duration of that playthrough

I actually missed him on my 1st playthrough entirely, not sure about any of the other characters if any of them are missable

Thanks. Yeah, one would assume Chora's Den would quiet down without Fist, but, whatever.

Can't wait to see how well Mass Effect 2 fleshes out Citadel, because this game makes it seem empty and small.

Mass Effect 2 is worse IMHO as far as Citadel is concerned. Mass Effect 3 does an awesome job.

Yeahhh, the Presidium of the Citadel is reduced to a single room in ME2. The Wards are a little bit bigger at least.

OMG....

Who signs off on these designs? I'm starting to thing ME2 was designed by the EA marketing department in collaboration with accounting.

Is there anything to look forward to in ME2?

The combat's fun, and it has a lot of fun characters. The sidequests are fun too, I wish there were more of them for me to play in that combat system. The switch to an ammo system is weird and doesn't really fit common sense of the lore, but the combat system benefits from being made a bit more shooter-y. I do like the focus of the main plot of ME2, even if a lot of the plot ends up being character recruitment/loyalty missions.

It has more positives than negatives. You actually get to visit the krogan homeworld, and several other great locations.

Yes!

While they did make a lot of changes for ME2 it is a still great game.

If you think about it, it makes sense for the Presidium to not make a larger appearance. Shepard has no reason to be there anymore, he no longer works for the Alliance or the Council, but for a terrorist organization. Even if Shepard chooses to be reinstated as a Spectre, the title is practically meaningless in Mass Effect 2, since Shepard mainly operates in the Terminus Systems--which lies outside Council Jurisdiction--as opposed to Mass Effect which takes place mainly in Alliance Space. Shepard is simply a rogue, a renegade, without backing from any government or authority besides Cerberus.

But it would be nice to see a Catadel that wasn't designed to fit within the RAM and processesing restrictions of a ten-year-old gaming console.

I doubt hardware restrictions have anything to do with it, other areas in the game are several times the size. But the problem with making something really large, is that you have to create content to fill out all that new space. An enormous hub on the citadel would be close to useless if it's all just for show.
