Application load error 5:0000065434

I've been trying to load Mass Effect but it wouldn't start soi tried running it as administrator but an error message pops up and says "Application load error 5:0000065434." Can someone help?

Did you try downloading and installing the 1.02 patch that is linked in the EA Help thread?

So I updated and got "Failed to compile global shader FDOFAndBloomGatherFallbackPixelShader" error (i got the same error when i try to open the from steam first so i tried mass effect.exe ) turns out my graphic card cant handle the game :^) but thanks for answer

It just suddenly started working for me.

I've fixed it by downloading and installing Patch 1.02 separately. It's not an issue anymore. At least for me. I've made my own thread covering this subject.
