Of the four mid-game missions, Virmire can be done either third or fourth.
Either way, once you finish all four mid-game missions, you gain access to Ilos, which is the point of no return. Best to take care of any sidequests you want to do before heading there.
ok, thanks.
In percentage, how much of the game's main missions have i completed? So far i visited Feros, Noveria and Virmire with only a few side missions uncompleted (which i not worried of finish them all)
Wihich is something they should tell you before hand. There are a lot of side missions I could not do because I have to return to the citadel to complete but I am banned from there.
They really should explain or warn you before progressing so not to leave so many side missions left opened.
2. Citadel (first visit in main story)
~~~
3. Therum/Feros/Novaria
4. Therum/Feros/Novaria
5. Therum/Feros/Novaria/Virmire
6. Therum/Feros/Novaria/Virmire
DLC A. Bring Down the Sky
DLC B. Pinnacle Station
NOTE: Finish all sidequests before heading to #6/Virmire, to be safe. Suggested order for story is Therum, Feros, Novaria (bring Liara), Virmire. However, if playing on Hardcore/Insanity, I might suggest otherwise (some hard bosses on Therum).
~~~
7. Citadel (second visit in main story)
8. Ilos
8. Final Area (won't spoil)
It sounds like you only have Therum, 2nd Citadel, Ilos, and Final Area left.
Since most don't count the 2nd Citadel visit, you really just have 3 parts left.
Try to do all sidequests you want to do, before you move forward though.
Therum WILL start advancing the story into semi-PONR (Point of No Return), and 2nd Citadel/Ilos definitely WILL be past the point of sidequests.
That's what New Game Plus is for, I think they figured.
They made things somewhat more clear in ME2-ME3 though. Sort of. ME3 had its issues.
I mean level 30. So I will start at level 5 in ME2. Thanks
Then for ME3, you just import your ME2 character, so you can even start at Lv 30 out of 60 :)
I think it's still possible to reach Lv 60 in one ME3 fresh go, but you pretty much have to aim to do everything, and doing DLC really helps.
Due to several gameplay changes, your character's level and abilities will not transfer over to Mass Effect 2. However, the game will acknowledge your character's level and morality and adapt it in ways that map across to the new system as well. The higher the level of the imported character, the greater the bonuses granted upon importing.
A portion of the character's Paragon/Renegade points (up to 190 each, which requires the bar(s) to be 50% full[1]) are transferred over.
Importing a level 1 through level 49 character will grant 1,000 XP (the player starts at level 2), 20,000 credits, and 2,500 of each resource.
Importing a level 50 through level 59 character will grant 2,000 XP (the player starts at level 3), 30,000 credits, and 5,000 of each resource.
Importing a level 60 character will grant 4,000 XP (the player starts at level 5), 50,000 credits, and 10,000 of each resource.
Having the "Rich" achievement from Mass Effect will grant an additional 100,000 credits.
The import bonuses will stack with the Mass Effect 2 completion starting bonuses (200,000 credits and 50,000 of each resource).
Or you can do a New Game Plus, make sure you made every decision the way you wanted to (as they affect ME2-3 in even tiny ways), and maybe get to Lv 57-60.
If that not something you feel like doing, maybe drop the game and pick it up in a few weeks/months.
This I recall was a major complaint of ME1 at the time and I 100% agree with you. As SwobyJ mentioned I believe the idea was that players would do a new game + to get back to any missed side quests. Well this was fixed in ME2 so at least take comfort that you are not alone in your feelings and that it was eventually fixed.
Yes in ME2 and ME3 it brings you back to right before the point of no return. Which is nice.
