Mass Effect (2007)

Mass Effect (2007)

Any Anti-Aliasing working with a current rig?
I've been trying some strategies to get AA to work, but to no avail. I have a GTX 970, and am using Nvidia Inspector.

This is one source, but it didn't work for me. Renaming the EXE to BioShock.exe doesn't work with the Steam version.

Any successful experiences? Thx

Unreal 3 doesn't have AA natively incorporated into the engine. I'm running Radeon, so I usually force 2x AA in the Catalyst Control Center.

If you also own Mass Effect 2, expect a similar problem btw. Mass Effect 3 however does have a simple AA setting (that can be switched "on" or "off") in the game menu that works well.

Switching FXAA on in the Nvidia control panel worked for me. Regular AA didn't do anything when I tried it.

Yeah, well, I don't like FXAA, it's quick and dirty. You get better edges but a fuzzier overall image. I got supersampling (or was it multisampling?) AA to work, but with severe flickering making this an impossible solution. This game definitely sucks at AA. Luckily for us, with 4K onwards this kind of hassle is going to be history, though.

Yeah I don't like FXAA much either, but at least it makes the game look better than playing with no AA at all.

Find compatibility flag here: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=357956
and set AA which your rig can handle. For me it work like a charm.
