I know I do not have the skill to open up any containers. However I wonder how can I get the other characters to do it for me.

Pick Tali or Garrus and put their skill points into Electronics (Overload) and Decryption (Sabotage), you will be able to open locks as usual. For easy locks Overload and/or Sabotage needs to be lvl 1, for average – lvl 2, for hard – lvl 3.

If you have party member with required level of electronics/decryption, you can open containers. Tali is the quickest as she has access to both skills immediately. Just make sure to turn auto level-up off.

depends on your characters class, you can use yours or other caracters electronic and decryption skill to open anything. I recommend maxing out Garrus or Tali electronic AND decryption skills before you start your journey through the galaxy- its easy and fast enough
