How to avoid Kaidan romance ?
So, i'm playing as FemShep, and i'm trying to keep her single till Mass Effect 2 so i can romance Garrus, but this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ decided to stand in the way. I got to the Normandy lockdown part, got to the dialogue with him and literally all the options i tried (beside what i think it's a renegade option, sorry, full paragon run here) won't get him off my FemShep's ass. Isn't there any possible way to make him go away ? As peaceful as possible possibly ? I'm willing to use even save editors if there is the option.

If i knew that speaking to him just once automatically activated his romance, i would have avoided him like plague, don't you think ?
And i'm not really willing to replay the whole game just for that.

Your choices with Kaidan leading up to this point may have locked you into a romance path because you were too nice to him and he romance-zoned you. If you do have a save editor to hand, you could open up your current save and see if there's a flag for Kaidan romance, and unset it.
Alternatively, just be a renegade to him and undo the renegade effect with a save editor.

I have been searching on google and i haven't found a single save editor for Mass Effect 1, only the one for the 2 seems to exist. Do you have any link ?

Not that I know of, sorry. I've only used ME2 and ME3 save editors. Without a save editor, you may have to just live with one bit of renegade. Garrus is worth it.

Yeah, i gave up and took the "buzz off" option. Felt a bit bad considering the situation but ♥♥♥♥ it, Garrus is always worth.

Couldn't you have romanced Liara at the same time then chosen Liara? Or even killed off Kaidan?

Also pretty sure in ME2 you have to tell Kelly (Yeoman Chambers) that it's over between you after the meeting on Horizon to make Garrus' romance available.

Sadly during my run, i ended up recruiting Liara at the very last, there wasn't enough time to develop a relationship with her (not that i wanted honestly). About nuking Kaidan on Virmire i considered that option, but my last save on that mission was pretty much at the very beginning of it, and i wasn't really in the mood to replay it again, plus, from what i remember Kaidan is a valuable and strong character to have during Mass Effect 3, so...

Choose options that are professional, stick the the mission at hand. if he starts getting a bit too familiar, shoot him down and let him know you aren't interested. you can still learn alot about Kaidan. But usually towards the end of his conversations "he tries it on", so keep your ears open for that and react accordingly.

When you initially rescue him from the beacon, try not to make him feel too good about excusing his mistake in sickbay, that's the first instance the game will try lock Kaidan into a romance with your femshep. That's just an example.

I tend to keep Kaidan after Virmire because one of Ashley's skills are bugged on ME3 and that makes her useless to me. if i do keep Ashley, i don't use her beyond the initial missions.

It's not always easy to spot. I've made that mistake a few times. Had to learn to be on my toes around Ashley, Liara or Kaidan.

I typically kill off kaidon myself find him annoying in a lot of ways, he has his moments. Never have romanced Garrus though, might do that after I beat my current game on me3.

For me he is ok, as long as he doesn't get in the way of me and Garrus lol

You can still date Kaiden/Ashely in ME1. You just have to make sure you select the right dialogue options to end things amicably in ME2. In my previous playthrough as femshep I romanced Kaiden in 1, but chose to stay as friends in 2, where I then romanced Garrus.

You mean in ME3. Because there is no Kaidan romance in ME2.

Trust me, ditching him in ME3 is not cheating at all. That's the most, I think, that can be said without spoilers.
