Stuck on Therum

I have just finished the Feros chapter and was doing a bit of random exploring on various planets, even though I did not necessarily have side missions to them yet.

I went down to Therum, got a bit stuck and figuring that rather than try to sort it out, I'd come back to it later. However, when I pressed "N" to go back to the Normandy, nothing happened. I thought you could return whenever you wanted. That was the case on previous planets. Am I stuck until I complete this mission, whatever it is?

I am reticent to do turn to a walkthrough, but I keep getting my posterior kicked so I think I am missing something key. Either way, I think I would rather go back later, but I am stuck. Is there any way out of this?

You can't leave Therum, so your only options is to beat it or start over.

Therum is one of the story planets, so you're stuck until you finish the mission. Where exactly in the mission are you? I used to play the tail off this game back when my XBox 360 still worked, so maybe I could give you some tips.

Yeah, on main missions you're stuck until finished (dunno exactly if you can manually leave Feros/Noveria though). And yeah, Therum can easily kick any not-high-enough-level a$$, especially on hard. Just take out rocket troops ASAP and watch out for sniper's beam (don't exit cover until it's long gone). Colossus is ez as long as you stay in cover and in krogan fight take his entourage fast, then taunt him and kite/cc him while mowing his fat health down

Thanks all. I did not realize that at first. I was going around landing on various planets just to level up and get some extra weapons. I did not realize I had chosen a story planet.

I watched a quick video and realized I had completely missed the side route around the first barricade, which is why I was stuck.

I have now finished the game. I was a paragon, except for the council. Don't really miss them.
